The Freedom Caucus of one.

Poor Phil Jensen. After last night, the SD Freedom Caucus is looking a bit lonelier after last night’s primary election:

Between retirements and moreso because they were thrown out of office by their electors, the Freedom caucus is no more. Unless, you count Phil Jensen barking at the moon.

  • John “California” Carley? Gone.
  • Dylan Jordan? Gone
  • White Boy Summer Logan Manhart? Gone.
  • Heather Baxter? Gone.
  • Tony Kayser? Unless he can come up with 50 votes in the recount, he’s gone as well.

Five of the worst legislators are now attaching “former” to their legislative status in a major move to shift the House and Senate closer to sanity.

We’ll see if Phil can find a phone booth to have his meeting in next session. But not looking like they’re going to be sending out a lot of press releases anymore.

  1. Phil came to my door like 3 times in the last month. He was so desperate. Still didn’t vote for him. It’s a shame he still gets into office.

  2. District 2 might supply Phil with some new recruits. Between California transplant Manuel Luschas and Adam Long, he might find some new minions.

  3. I cannot believe the voters in that district re-elected Phil Jensen over Jeff Marlette. Jeff Marlette would be an excellent legislator not only for that district but for the state.

    1. I bullet voted for Marlette. Jensen has (still) an immense number of signs up, and he was at my house at least twice. Despite his obvious faults, I give Jensen credit for working it.

  4. How did Mulally win the auditors office. She’s gonna do nothing but turn it political, burn through employees and mis manage money. She had no experience! What is wrong with this county?

    1. She has experience as treasurer of the SDGOP, which is hemorrhaging cash, and wasn’t she the treasurer of the SDFRW when things went off the rails, there, too, and it was not clear who messed that up? If money is disappearing shouldn’t an organization’s treasurer notice?

      1. They should definitely notice. And being a treasurer is a far cry from being an auditor that’s for sure. The people definitely got this one wrong. You do t take someone out almost 10 years of experience in that office. Guarantee you she makes some huge mistakes in that office in the next couple years.

    2. She did a dirty, smear campaign against her opponent. No shame. Sad no one saw throug the smoke to see how awful a choice Tina was for auditor.

      1. People should’ve been smart enough o not beleive anything she says. She runs all her elections like that. And she calls herself a god loving Christian. Cant wait until she messes up the auditors office, than the people will know how bad they screwed up.

        1. Yes, and as she is burning it all to the ground the voters will realize firing a county elected official is next to impossible, along with 4 year terms and no term limits. Good luck with that. Sending Phil to Pierre every 2 yrs won’t hold a candle to the damage she will do.

          1. If she burns it to the ground I’ll start a petition for the people to sign to get her out of that office.

    3. I got a 3 page letter from Tina that went scorched earth on her opponent. The letter was so full of half truths and downright lies I tossed it immediately in the garbage and took a shower. Her holier than thou attitude and self righteous was a bit more than I could swallow. With her in the Auditors seat and Mr. Frye-Mueller on County Commission, look for a ton of lawsuits, employee’s bailing and elections fraught with confusion and incompetence. Pennington County voters should be ashamed.

      1. Thousands of people got that letter. She had no experience to run on so she had to lie to get what she wanted. And the sad part is, she won’t care about the consequences at all. We the people are gonna have to get a petition going to get her out if that office. The people really screwed up this time around. Sabrina was an amazing employee and loved working with the public. This office is screwed now.

      2. Well several people said Commissioner Hadcock supported Mulally. So here you will have Hadcock, Mueller if he wins the General Election who also supported Mulally and Mulally. This is a mess waiting to happen and when it does who are they going to blame won’t be Sabrina cause the voters messed up!

  5. Those SD Conservative Champ ads were incredibly effective against these people. Got a lot of people talking in my area. They really twisted the knife in the crazies.

  6. A so called republican page celebrating the failures of legislators pushing liberty in our state. Absolutely unreal.

    1. After following politics long enough on Facebook, you pick up on individuals typing style, sentence structure, and word use. Sorry for your loss, DJ Dylan. But I’m really not.

    2. So sending out an 8 page hurtful letter with nothing but lies in it is pushing liberty in our state? Get a life loser.

  7. Been hearing from someone that hadcock might’ve bought votes for Mulally. I’m currently looking into it.
