WASHINGTON — U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) today delivered the above remarks on the Senate floor.

    You just can’t seem to find them when you go before a judge.

    1. What’s most troubling is the active dismantling of our great nation by Trump and the congressional GOP, under the ruse of “saving” it. What crap. What lying crap. That great modern nation we had prior to Jan 20 2025 was built on the blood of the greatest generation, and since then it’s been ripped up by billionaire globalists and chicken hawks, and presided over by a cabinet of circus clowns. We are the new “worst nation on Earth” thanks to the wars we started.
      Trump needed to win in 2024 to stay out of prison. I now think the whole GOP needs to crater the 2026 election for the same reason. The SAVE act is part of how you do that.

  6. A wise friend of mine reviewed this 29 page bill in its entirety and summarized it thus:

    “Bottom line: The bill would make it more complicated for many women to vote than for other people, and that violates the 14th Amendment. It would require some people to spend money in order to vote, and that violates the 24th Amendment. The bill is unconstitutional.”

    Someone should explain to Leader Thune that poll taxes and other forms of voter suppression are unconstitutional. It takes Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski all of about one minute with a map to explain how this bill will require some Alaskans to spend up to $1,000 or more to register or re-register to vote: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1B19typoDJ/

    Not to mention that the bill is completely unnecessary. The far right Heritage Foundation “uncovered” a grand total of 88 cases of non-citizens voting out of more than a billion ballots cast over 24 years from 1999-2023. At a rate of 0.00000764%, it’s like a grain of sand at the beach.

    The REAL reason for this bill is a desperate attempt for Republicans to retain their majority after the midterms. Even if the bill passes, good luck with that after pissing off millions of married women. And with Trump’s new Middle Eastern quagmire war driving up the price of gas and just about everything else, not to mention adding a billion dollars daily to the already bloated federal debt, life is soon going to become even a lot LESS fun for Leader Thune.

Everyone has an opinion. No one has there own personal facts. Just because you say it and your feelings are hurt. Thise aren’t facts. Your Feelings don’t count. Hate to break your Liberal heart.       1. If you simply add up all the hoops that have to be jumped through to regain the right to vote, it’s obvious from the get go that this bill ERASES the right to vote for many people, then imposes a series of obstacles to overcome to regain the right.

        You didn’t read the bill. You just watch Fox and decided in 2016 that having Trump ruin the USA for everyone was good enough for you. A suicide pact basically. Excuse us while we reject that crap ok?

  7. Senator, Democrats are fine with showing a drivers license or state-issued ID to vote. Most states already require it anyway. That would reduce the pages of this bill to one paragraph. It’s all the other stuff put in to make Trump happy that makes it unconstitutional. Not everyone in the country is as stupid as you seem to think.
