WASHINGTON — U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) today delivered the following remarks on the Senate floor.
Are you referring to all of that fentanyl coming across the Canadian border? That “huge” and totally unacceptable volume of illicit drugs that REQUIRES an economy-destroying (for both of our countries) trade war with our staunchest ally and next door neighbor?
We are now allied firmly with Russia. We’ve severed ties with our NATO allies after 80+ years of shared purpose.
Well done Senator!
The irony is compounded by the fact that FAR more fentanyl goes into Canada from the US than vice versa. FAR more. Absolutely ridiculous fight over a made up problem.
