4% Gubernatorial wannabe Toby Doeden was involved in an incident yesterday at the Northern State University game where a woman allegedly did something which found her charged with simple assault and released.
Yet if we’re to believe his campaign manager, there were threats on his life and the whole thing related to the Charlie Kirk assasination.
Considering the aggressive promotion that the Doeden dumpster-fire team is pushing this story with across social media where he was assaulted by some woman… I think I want to see the police report before commenting further.

Great that APD is taking this seriously. But don’t let whoever/whatever this is play you. Keep in mind that some political candidates are willing to do just about anything to set them apart, get noticed in the news. Can’t say for certain who the pol is but have an educated guess that I will keep to myself until the story comes out.
Sometimes the guy who yells “fire” set the fire. Wouldn’t be the first time that a politician used a false incident to gain notoriety & sympathy. As you know, there is a big difference between throwing insults & actually threatening someone. Don’t let the person who is complaining make fools of APD. If it ends up ‘he said, the other guy said’ don’t put your careers on the line to give some jerk politician a leg up, you people don’t deserve to be treated this way by anyone.
Good luck APD, I’m an old man, have traveled to Aberdeen more times than I can remember. All interactions that I have had with APD, you guys were always effective courteous & professional. Thanks for your service to the community. I’m sympathetic that APD has to make the call on something like this.

I have 0 sympathy for someone who called his opponent bad and evil. He is the problem not the solution.
It’s like the cringe, extreme fringe and non-stop antics of the Mark Robinson for Governor campaign which ended up being a major embarrassment for the state of North Carolina has come to South Dakota. How are these two campaigns connected?
I do not trust the report of an assault. The truth will reveal itself. Crazy how people jump on the coat tails of a tragedy to try to get publicity. I see Hub City radio jumped right on it with an interview. Remember what Toby recorded when the other parts of the story come out.
The Doeden Radio Network looks like they pulled the audio from his campaign FB page video. It also looked like he was reading a script when he was looking down while describing what happened.
Is it called “simple” assault because it happened to Toby, or is it called that because he simply wasn’t assaulted?
A lot to know here before making any conclusions. How often does Toby go to Northern football games? If he rarely goes, it would be very ironic that he goes to the first one after Kirk’s assassination and gets assaulted. Who is the person that assaulted him? Any kind of connection to Tody. Friend of a friend of a friend? Will Toby ask to have charges be dropped?
I just have a hard time believing this story. It is not out of line to believe Toby set this entire thing up in an attempt to put himself “on par” with Kirk, then ask for charges to be dismissed to make himself look like the forgiving one.
Mr. Doeden is a large enough fellow to clobber anyone waving a napkin angrily in his direction.

I always say, when we “assume” it can make an “ass”-(out of)-“u”-(&)”me.” But, not being afraid of being an ass in this situation, it’s important to remember a simple assault can be as little as placing someone in apprehension of bodily injury. Maybe little Toby-woby was a bit on edge and got a wittle scared.

Yep. When the political winds make it optimal to be the victim, you take the perpetrator as you can get them.
I seem to remember Mr Doeden posting a lot on Facebook that the sooner the gay people burn in hell the better, so I’m not really sure what makes him exempt from the same kind of rhetoric.
Toby’s not a small guy, who was this “female assalant” ? Also, given the ONLY witness was his daughter…

Somebody probably recorded the incident with a cell phone. It will all come out eventually..
Mr. Doeden, shrinking in fear from a 120 lb. woman, waving a napkin in his direction. He could clobber anyone he wanted to, except for his fear.
