In addition to the Augie CR’s going to CPAC, the USD College Republicans are heading to the “Super Bowl of Conservatism” as well:
For the last two years the University of South Dakota College Republicans have attended the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington D.C, and this year we’re asking for your help. This year’s event is March 2-5.
and..
By donating to our GoFundMe page, you will help us pay for our tickets to the event and hotel room in our nation’s capital. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time, and support in helping us advance the conservative message.
Thank you and God Bless.

You’re really threatened by students trying to raise money for extra-curricular activities, aren’t you?
Not at all – just pointing out hypocrisy where I find it.
Private donations for a worthy cause as opposed to tax dollars for a socialist (meaning unworthy) cause. Duh!
So the police department should run only on private donations? Fair enough.
You’re not even making sense, harebrain. Are you saying police departments are a socialist cause? Try to think before you type. Don’t act stupidly like Obummer.
Hypocrisy?
Such has when you objected to slanderous comments made against a RC councilmen in the RC Journal ,and then made libelous (and despicable) comments against Fred Deutch here in the DWC?
Is that the hypocrisy you’re talking about?
P.S. Libel includes slander that is published, not just written. Law lesson over. No charge, hypocrite.
Libel is written false or defamatory statements. Slander is spoken false or defamatory comments. You should looked up the difference be you comment.
I don’t recall objecting to any slanderous comments, be it in Rapid City or its newspapers. You must have me confused with someone else. I did comment on Mr. Deutch’s views, and will stand by those comments as being truthful.
Cross grain you got lost somewhere in the shuffle.
I am extremely honored to have sparked some semblance of intellect in you though.
Thanks,
Charlie B
BTW PP I do not remember my proposal for tax dollars being appropriated for a college group of young Americans attending a conference of conservative agenda???
Cross grain can you help here?
Crossgrain was just being a troll.
That’s just your opinion.
I don’t recall you making any such assertion vis-à-vis taxation and CRs attending CPAC. My comment was to point out the hypocrisy in giving “hand-outs” to those CRs who should otherwise be able to pay for extracurricular activities themselves (or at least have mom and pop cough up the coin), lest we turn them into spoiled brats.
What “hypocrisy” are you talking about?
Where’s the hypocrisy in paying for a trip, getting parents to pay for a trip, or getting other to donate to pay for that trip?
Call it a “hand out”, a “donation” or “parental financial support”–where’s the “hypocrisy”?
Crossgrain therein lies the difference between liberal and conservative thought process. You jumped from me wanting something in return from citizens having the government take care of them for no other reason than having a heartbeat to citizens working a micro economic group for funding a certain activity they wish to engage in. I guess in my mind there is a huge difference in the two ways of funding ones fun.
