I hate when this happens. According to the Casper (WY) Star-Tribune, a Wyoming State Legislative candidate is facing controversy over running for office in that state.. but at least on paper, maintaining residency in Sioux Falls:
Jeske announced his campaign for House District 59, encompassing the city of Mills and part of east Casper in Wyoming, in March 2026.
Business records show that Jeske filed reports in the last two years denoting himself as the noncommercial registered agent in South Dakota with a Sioux Falls address — a role that must be filled by someone who currently lives in the state, the South Dakota Secretary of State’s Office confirmed.
and..
As of July 27, Jeske still appears as a registered South Dakota voter on the Secretary of State website.
To file for election in Wyoming, candidates must affirm that they have lived in the state for at least one year, Juarez pointed out.
But, this is a name Sioux Falls residents should recognize. Because Jeske ran for Sioux Falls City Council in 2024. According to the Argus Leader:
His campaign website features a photoshopped image of a masked TenHaken next to former Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi as though the two have matched on the dating app Tinder. The website also notes two members of TenHaken’s staff have spent time in California, listing them and their annual salaries under the heading “WOKE DEI 50% CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT OF SIOUX FALLS.”
and…
“IF I was the mayor I would plow the streets in a snow storm while working 10 hours straight with a cowboy hat on then switch to a suit, go to a city council meeting if necessary to help get the job done in the city like a South Dakotan,” Jeske wrote.
It doesn’t sound like he’s still claiming to be “like a South Dakotan,” as he seeks a Wyoming office. But, who am I to judge.?
It also sounds as if the race might be getting a bit contentions, according to this video:
Stay tuned. I’m sure there’s more to come.

DAMN—I thought article was going to say some South Dakota town 30 mins to an hour from the border of Wyoming.
He sounds like someone trying to make politics his career.
Wyoming where men are men and sheep are sacred!
If the GOP loses the senate, it’s time for Thune to retire.
It’s time trump to be done. He has totally destroyed the world order along with 250 years of whatever we have left of America.
Yes, thankfully he has destroyed the plans of the elitist New World Order.
And installed his own shiny new worldwide swamp. No draining that baby. It is a fine grade tar oil. Impenetrable.
I suspect this has more to do with the confusion caused in 1989 when Rand McNally left both Dakotas and Oklahoma out of its atlas and people were unsure about where the state borders were.
Trump didn’t have anything to do with that as far as I know
But prior to that, everything west of the 100th Meridian was just a big desert.
i don’t think your comment has anything to do with Wyoming
Mr. Jeske seems to have riled up a Wyoming wild cat to hunt his arse down with public facts. Mr. Jeske probably needs to stop running for office, anywhere.
Well he probably looked at other far right elected officials and in particular legislators some former who were found not to legally live in the South Dakota districts they represent and thought garsh darrnit! If they can do it why not me?
Lotta waste, fraud and abuse coming out of the Republican camp lately.
I am waiting to see if the precinct committee men and women fraudulently signed up by Tom Pischke are allowed to vote at the meeting to select his replacement, or if Minnehaha County used them as placeholders, and has attempted to replace them.
Will Leah Anderson attend to make sure the District numbered 25 does this correctly? Or will the “true conservatives” who rant about election integrity choose to look the other way?
I went too far down the rabbit hole this morning. According to the SDSOS Website, his LLC is Abundance Unlimited. He filed amended annual reports for 2025 & 2026 on 7/23 changing his address from Sioux Falls to Casper…
This is a really thoughtful take on where AI is heading. I appreciate how you’ve broken down the complexities into something more digestible. The pace of innovation in this space is truly remarkable.
Trying to claim Wyoming residency while staying registered in Sioux Falls is like passing off one season’s palette as another — maybe a ColorMe check would reveal his true colors. Also, that photoshopped Tinder thing alone should sink the campaign.
The registered agent filing is the smoking gun—that role requires current residency, so it’s not just outdated voter rolls. After dealing with similar cross-state paperwork myself, I ran my notes through this tool to get the facts straight before commenting.
Spambot.
The registered agent detail is the real kicker—that role legally requires current residency, so it’s not just some paperwork oversight. Funny how the “South Dakotan” persona evaporates once there’s a Wyoming seat to chase.
