From the Secretary of State’s office, comes the yacht rock of Gubernatorial tickets with Dan Ahlers running Steve McCleerey as his running mate:

Neither one of them bad people, but just not a lot to get excited about either.

Hard to imagine a ticket just as nice but somehow less exciting than Holling and Ruth-Anne. I guess we should have put ourselves out there
A good solid team that will be focused on no nonsense, no drama governing and service to others.
He lost to Manhart.
Ahlers should drop out as he has zero chance of winning. Instead use his treasure chest to pay for school lunches for South Dakota children.
RLTW
School lunches are the responsibility of parents. Lunch money = child support.
Don’t give deadbeat dads any more ideas of how to weasel out of paying child support.
If they’re homeschooled, yes. If attending public school then taxpayers should provide lunch.
You’re not in the Army anymore. You’re no longer a Ranger. You aren’t leading anything.
They are not relevant. Congrats to our current and future governor Rhoden.
I forgot Ahlers got to choose a running mate. This announcement was just totally not on my radar. For it to trickle out like it did, and for it to be grumpy old Democrat Legislator McCleery, I feel like Ahlers lost points. Why didn’t he ask Jamie Smith, or Erin Healy, or anyone with energy and name ID?! Baffled.
Dan believes in the motto “any publicity is bad publicity”
It’s fairly evident that Ahlers is just a placeholder candidate. If Doeden had won the primary, Ahlers would have withdrawn and Sutton or Smith would have been leading the ticket. With Rhoden winning, Ahlers will just use the debates to push a future Dem-sponsored voter initiative…
Why? Go pick some up and comer and give them a profile.
