South Dakota Searchlight has an article on the “No Kings” rally that took place in Sioux Falls yesterday, as well as the counter protest in support of President Trump. And it seems there was a bit of a difference in the numbers of people who attended:

About 3,500 people gathered in downtown Sioux Falls on Saturday for the latest No Kings protest — making it the city’s largest protest so far this year, according to organizer crowd estimates.

The protest was the 13th in South Dakota for the day, organizer Craig Brown with Indivisible 605 said. Protesters gathered to listen to speakers, display homemade signs and chant “this is what democracy looks like” and “we love America; that’s why we’re here,” and call for President Donald Trump “to go.”

A counter protest, dubbed the Real American Rally, was held during the same time a block away from the No Kings protest. It drew about 30 people.

John Small, an organizer of the counter protest, said the gathering was intended to be positive and show “love for the country we live in.”

If this isn’t an indication that the mid-term elections are going to be tough, I don’t know what is.

And this is why I harp on the faction of populists who have driven the Republican Party into shambles and such stupidity as the 32-year Democrat who pretends to chair the party declaring he want to weed the RINO’s out.

Mid-term elections are traditionally challenging for the party in charge of the White House, and our opponents are motivated while the Republican Party struggles to raise a dime.  And with the leadership we have declaring war on the people working for the future of the state, and promoting new taxes, the handwriting is on the wall that Republican candidates are going to face rough seas in 2026.

  1. most of us figured the No Kings rally was just another protest about something, but even the participants were unsure what it was about. A real king wouldn’t allow such rallies, so the fact that they had them proves we don’t have a king.

    In 2008 Obama gave a lot of speeches about how “our immigration system is broken,” but when the Democrats controlled the Congress and the White House, tbey didn’t change any immigration laws, tbey didn’t fix anything.
    He also said he was going to fix healthcare. He sure did, and now health insurance is unaffordable.
    .Obama went on an apology tour trying to promote world peace and that didn’t work either; by 2012 the CIA was running weapons from Libya into Syria and Benghazi happened. We were supposed to believe that was just a bunch of locals upset about a video. He was correct in believing most Americans were too stupid to figure it out, and he was re-elected.
    And then he went into “phone and pen” mode, ignored Congress and ruled by executive order.,
    He stopped meeting with Congressional leadership and became an autocrat,
    And these fools think Trump is a monarch? What a joke.

    1. He is not a monarch… yet. He is trying to become one. The “fools” are the ones who refuse to see all of the obvious signs. And he did try to stay in office after he lost in 2020. But I suppose you didn’t notice that either.

        1. Exactly right. Biden’s 2020 vote total exceeded the previous election (2016) in every… single… state.

          Some would prefer to think that ALL OF THEM were rigged. They would be wrong, of course, but “alternative facts” are popular these days.

    2. Trump is angling for full blown authoritarian control, with all limits on his ambitions from Congress and the courts made meaningless.
      Trump is trying to finagle riots, like the lib-vs-nazi riots of his first term, but much larger in scope to justify martial law and invocation of the Insurrection act.
      He’s lavishly spending on his mansion upgrade like he owns the place; he is crippling many parts of the peoples’ government, and wayyy overfunding his ICE masked pocket army. His Congressional majority has the permanent bent knee of total fealty. They can’t heap enough simpering praises on him wherever he goes. It is all a joke.

  3. The No Kings thing was promoted all over the country. The local patriots were not promoting their event. They got a permit for 35 people and they invited 35 people, all 35 were there. They did not want a large crowd. That would have caused a problem. Even with the hand picked 35, there were NO KINGS people trying to pick fights.

    The patriots group did an amazing job of keeping things under control, which could not have been possible with a large group and the ability for anyone to pop on a red hat and pretend to be with them. They had a plan and did exactly what they planned.

    We all know, no matter what happened, the media would have found a way to make their efforts look bad. If the group would have been larger the headlines would have just been about “large angry mob”.

    In reality, it was a very select group of people who showed up with nothing more that a smile and love for one another knowing there is only ONE king in America. That’s Jesus, the KING OF KINGS.

      I drove through there and there were TRUMP supporters trying to mix with the crowd and cause problems. Don’t try to use Jesus to support your deceptions. And real Christians, last I looked, would never support a guy who admits to wanting to be a “dictator” on day one. And proves it every day since.

    2. There absolutely were MAGA people who tried to disrupt the protest. There was a dude in a MAGA hat and a white “freedom” shirt walking around trying to argue with folks. There were counter protestors who had to be talked with by police and moved for obstructing the protest’s permit space. There was a dude with a megaphone trying to drown out chants. After the protest a guy in a truck blocked the cross-walk for like thirty seconds obstructing traffic behind him just to annoy people trying to walk away from the protest. When I stood across the street from the counter protest one of y’all walked over and told me to “get a life.” doesn’t seem real positive to me!

  4. The energy was EPIC and they do know what they are fighting for. Every day, Trump does something, that if Biden had done it, the right would have lost their ever-loving mind (like if he sent out an AI photo showing Biden with a king’s crown on flying over crowds of republicans an dropping feces on them). Course his social media crap is just that. It is the other actions he’s taking that he doesn’t even understand (he said he wouldn’t have done tariffs if he had know those things couldn’t be made in the US – I mean, what? Good Lord, he should have known that before). He has destroyed the justice system by violating everything from the Hatch Act to the Emoluments Clause. He can’t govern and he can’t lead and neither can Thune. Yes, be very afraid for midterms.

    You haven’t done squat when the leader of these morons is in the whitrhouse and you fail to call out the association that exists. You dont get to support a guy and claim to not support the buffonery that continues to happen. Unmitigated power and authority with no accountability to the law? Our founders would already consider him a king worth removing. I look forward to those adamant supporters who slowly claim to be on the right side of this horribly wrong admin to save face and I’ll be waiting to call out their crap. Oh by the way, how is the dollar looking?

      the Democrats tried everything they could to get rid of him and the voters re-elected him. He won another election, and the democrats have lost their minds, protesting the result of a democratic election.
      Both sides have their election-deniers, but the majority are sane enough to accept the results.
      I wish Trump would shut up about the 2020 election, but the first amendment protects his freedom of speech too, He can say anything he wants, because the law says he can.
      If you say he shouldn’t be allowed to say what he wants, you’re the fascist here, not him.

      1. They aren’t denying the election. I haven’t seen one single sign saying he didn’t win. THEY ARE APPALLED AT HIS ACTIONS! Check out the emoluments clause and the Hatch Act, just a small portion of the laws he has broken daily. If Republicans would stop trying to “own the libs” and instead actually look at what he is doing and the damage it is causing (albeit not to the rich), maybe they would be appalled too. Or maybe not – I’m never surprised by their selfishness any more.

  6. The Democrats want to deprive all of us of our First Amendment rights. People are being called in to their employers’ HR departments and reprimanded for using the wrong pronouns and hurting somebody’s feelings. Accidentally “dead-naming” a coworker is grounds for disciplinary action.
    You aren’t just trying to silence Trump, you are trying to silence everybody you disagree with .

He jails “enemies” without evidence, he threatens to shut media down if they don’t agree with him, they demand to approve anything the press says; he demands colleges only teach what he approves – you may want to look in the mirror and ask yourself if he isn’t doing what you are accusing Liberals of doing.
