Candidate announces for District 29 Senate seat

Just had this sent my way, where a candidate, Bill Meirose, has announced for the seat currently held by California Carley:

Meirose, who is an ordained minister, notes in his video that he doesn’t think that California Carley’s bill mandating the ten commandments in schools is the place of the school district. So, there’s a positive alternative right off the bat.

  1. Amazing that “Christian” legislators promote the ten commandments that Jews and Muslims adhere to, but not the two commandments given by Jesus to Christians. That’s probably because the legislators sponsoring the legislation don’t like the second commandment of Jesus

  2. I’ve known Bill Meirose for many years through his excellent service in the South Dakota National Guard. He would make an excellent legislator!

  3. Does this mean one overgodder would replace another? California Carley is mostly harmless in the legislatures except for all the time he wastes.

    3. Well, grudznick can give you that if we must have a religious fellow, we want one from South Dakota and we want one that stays the heck out of other people’s business. Mr. Carley, who is from California, wants to get all up in everybody’s business and control them. If Mr. Meirose can keep his nose clean and not legislate “his version of morality” upon others like most of the insaner ones do, he might be a good upgrade.

  4. Anyone is better than Carley. By far the worst legislator in Pierre. And that says a lot!

    1. Carley was the only senator to vote against Lyle Spring for the brand board. Lyle is from Caley’s own district. Lyle is a quadraplegic who has a family, a job, and still works on his family ranch. He is an amazing person and Carley voted against him.

      2. This is what happens when you are from California and can’t read a room. The talk from Eastern Meade county ranchers is secession from District 29. John Carley and Kathy Rice……….ranchers aren’t happy.

        1. How long has Kathy Rice lived in the state? During session she mentioned in committee that she and her husband moved around a lot living in different states. When she made claims in committee thankfully other members asked her for documentation to back them up. She could not. They were stories and opinion from what supposedly happened in other states or maybe she saw it on the news there. The quality of legislators has nosedived which is a symptom of gerrymandering and one party rule.

      1. OK. You fellows don’t need to beat ol’ grudz about the neck and shoulders with a stick here. I stand corrected This fellow should replace Mr. Carley, who is from California.
