Doeden claims he was denied for Lt. Governor three times.. just like Jesus!

This morning, Toby Doeden is posting on Facebook on the heels of the Dakota Scout story on his Lt. picks that he actually asked Jon Hansen to be his Lt. Governor three times.

And then a cock crowed! It’s as if he is just like Jesus!

Seriously though, it seems that the campaign is trying to stop the bleeding over who he is going to put a whisper away from the Governor‘s chair in the Lieutenant Governor seat; the person who will be spending time presiding over the South Dakota Senate in addition to whatever duties are assigned.

First they’re leaking out it could be two darlings of the hard-right to hold their base, OR someone regarded as a solid leader who will be in Senate leadership with the ouster of members of the hard right to court Dusty voters. Today, they’re claiming that Toby wanted Jon Hansen in an attempt to court his voters.

As I wrote a few days ago, noting one of the primary problems of the campaign going to the home-stretch

Who on earth is Doeden going to choose as his Lt. Gov, and/or populate his administration with?Because right now, all I see is a circus surrounding Toby Doeden, and I don’t want to turn State Government into a clown car.   We don’t know what we don’t know at this point.   We might very likely have the awful Taffy Howard as Lt. Governor.

The problem is we don’t know what we’re going to get. And over the last couple of days, all Toby has provided in response to that big question is continued uncertainty.

I think all this Lt. talk coming the weekend before the vote is too little too late, because it continues to be a lot of speculation and political chatter with no certainty behind it.

At this point, I suspect everybody’s minds are already made up, and no amount of chatter about who it COULD BE is going to change the outcome on Tuesday.

  1. Well Jon selfishly wouldn’t not join forces. That is par for the course that’s why Hansen will always be a nothing. He is about him, this ultimately shows that.

  2. Why would Jon attach commit career suicide by attaching his name to the sinking ship that is Toby Doeden? Makes no sense.

  3. Anyone wish to add to Toby Doeden’s campaign advertisement, campaign signs, claims or what he might as well say since we ran out of BS indicators? How about a good disclaimer for the Toby Doeden campaign?

    1. Prominent Aberdonian was begging me to invest in projects with him!*

I have given more to Aberdeen as far as donations than anyone else in history!*

  4. Safe to say Jon doesn’t support Toby to the point he refuses to even serve with him as Lt. Governor. Jon is willing to turn down a chance to be Lt and the chance to launch a future campaign to avoid being connected to Toby. Frankly this impresses me about Jon. He is willing to stick to his beliefs, values, and morals over potential power. Well done Jon, thank you for being a Christian conservative who refuses to buy into the smoke and mirrors show that is fake Toby Doeden.

Meanwhile others like Haugaard have shown they are willing to sacrifice their expressed Christian principles for a chance at power. Haugaard sold his soul to team Toby and now grovels for his approval so that he can institute his chosen dress code for all women in state government since he failed to as Speaker. Toby supporters have turned away from sound doctrine in the way God warned us in 2nd Timothy 4:2-4

    1. I’m not sure what anyone’s religious beliefs have to do with any of this. Toby is simply a bully and a fabulist. Hansen also doesn’t want to be saddled with a losing proposition. He’s a young guy who will likely continue to have a career in SD politics. Unless he gets tagged with Doeden. That’s politics, not religion.

    2. God did not write letters to Timothy, Paul did. If God wanted this information relayed to Timothy, why didn’t He just tell him this himself?

But it’s still good advice: beware of people who tell you what you want to hear.

      1. You lack discernment. God chose to speak through Paul as he spoke through Moses, as he spoke through Abraham.

        1. Some of us think Paul was a theologian, not a prophet.

It’s a matter of discernment, alright.
Paul said women should not be leaders over men, should not speak in church, should not wear jewelry, and should not cut their hair.
Some of us aren’t buying that.
In fact, if you look around, you might notice very few of us are buying that.
Paul also said people should stop getting married and procreating because the end of the world was at hand, Jesus would be returning ASAP.
          He got that one wrong.

  5. The fact that Doden even says Hansen turned him down three times is also dumb. Why would you tell people someone turned you down. Much less 3 times. It’s the best anti-endorsement.

    1. As long as the campaign is active, the only thing a candidate should say is I am winning, or I have the big mo and I’m about to be winning. Campaigns that say I lost or am losing, that’s exactly what they do. Posting about this is stupid. If we ever see Toby Doan‘s campaign financials, I think we’ll see that he stopped paying out of state consultants, probably cause they’re too expensive, and decided to rely on a core group of nitwits. Nitwit who would come up with something like this.

  6. Doeden should have announced an LT a week ago. It could have given him a boost. Hinting at it now has zero impact on the outcome of the race.

  7. Didn’t the governor want to veto ( delivered the biggest tax cut ) the bill?
Realized that veto would’ve been overturned when he signed into law.
Didn’t President Trump win in 2015 because he wasn’t a career politician? Though he had the luxury of running against Hillary ( who had dozens of former business associates and friends commit suicide ) Clinton. Or most recently Harris who suc#ed and fuc#ed powerful democratic married men to further her political career.
Will John Thune hold is position in the Senate?
No matter who wins South Dakota, the state will remain insignificant in Washington politics.
This is my opinion who served 23 years ( 1967-1990 six Presidents ) defending the greatest country in the world.
    RLTW

    1. Why would the governor want to draft and veto his own tax cut bill? What planet are you from?

      1. It does seem a thought train on the rails of insaner than most to state that the Governor would veto a bill he brought to the legislatures. Clearly, “Steve”, who is perhaps Mr. Haugaard indeed by the level if insanerism in the blogging but may not be, is unhinged nonetheless.

        1. RLTW is an acronym meaning “Rangers Lead the Way.” It refers to Army Rangers. What this idiot seems to forget, however, is that you dont toss around the Regiment as a means of winning political debates. If he was honestly in the unit, he should know better and be ashamed.

  8. Look, all know it would be Ms. Taffy announced, and the other games are just Doedenisersim at play.

Ms. Taffy might be a fine presiding officer, as she seems to know the rules, but putting her in the position where one red licorice gobbler going down the wrong tube in Mr. Doeden would put Ms. Taffy as the second prettiest woman to be Governor, and the least competent and most dangerous person. You fellows all know grudznick speaks your own minds here.

  9. Yuk it up people. All Doeden has to is turn out all of his motivated base, and what if he wins by ONE VOTE because a few hundred of us decided we did not NEED to vote this Tuesday.
That would be really stupid, like actually voting for Doeden if you fail to vote.

GET OUT AND VOTE – go to your auditors office tomorrow, or to your polling place Tuesday.

In this crazy year, it’s more important than ever to VOTE each time you can VOTE. You don’t know if this next vote is the one we have, right before the one that we don’t have any more, that gets taken from us. Trump HAS to know his days of winning elections are over. There will be repercussions.

    1. That’s right. Doeden’s core supporters are anti-vaxxer, and anti-science conspiracy craved and they will show up to vote whether they are infected with the measles, flu, severe cold, Pneumonia, Ebola or whatever and think nothing of it while non Doeden core supporters will be in isolation following what is medically advised by their physicians.

  10. It is a curious thing that the first year the party bylaws were changed so that the nomination for LG would be made solely by the nominee for Governor, not the party convention delegates, the nominee for Governor was not settled by the time the convention occurred.

We are used to knowing who is getting the LG nomination by now.
I can foresee a situation where the gubernatorial nominee decides he won’t pick an LG until after the general election.
I don’t think people will like that.
