Recounts do not usually change the outcome. Unless there is a very small vote difference. Like… two votes.
I believe that races of this size often have a dozen or so votes flipping one way or the other during a recount. This could easily go either way.
One thing I know for sure… money changed the outcome. That $100,000 check she got from big donors (Sanford, Dykhouse and Carlson) easily bought her two votes. Probably several thousand votes.
And what are the final campaign dollar figures? Did they send even more money her way?
Obviously pending a recount but hopefully this stands!

Yes, it’s within the margin allowed and Smith requested it. Last Sioux Falls recount shifted more votes than the difference here.
Two votes is crazy, we will have to see what the recount shows, and if reversed, will there be a review of the ballots?
