I’m not sure this endorsement helps Heather Baxter.

Coming off of his plea deal to get his rear-end out of a felony charge, today Heather Baxter is crowing about this endorsement from Travis Ismay.

Is a Tom Pischke endorsement coming next?

  1. Terrence Davis is an exceptional candidate who treats everyone with respect and is straight down the middle. He understands the necessity of non-partisanship and utmost integrity in the position he seeks.

  2. “Bring back the people’s trust in our electoral system?” Travis, name three fraudulent votes, statewide, in the last ten elections.

The fraud is in yelling fraud.

  3. I’m trying not to be mean about it but honestly if there was a less capable person in the legislature last year than Heather Baxter I’d like them pointed out. She’s now a vessel for the lunatic fringe.

    1. Let’s see.
      Senate:
Carl Perry(the man who like to cosponsors bills w/o reading)
Jon Carley(who tried to defund SDPB among others)
Tom Pischke(who wanted to get rid of tabulating machines and vote centers)

      House:
Logan Manhart(Tried to get the state involved in BitCoin)
Dylan Jordan(He too tried to defund SDPB and somebody tell me what he tried to do with eduation)

      I know I’m missing others.

      1. When was the last time you watched any SDPB other than legislative coverage??
I wondered this anout myself, why don’t I watch it anymore? So I turned it on the TV and looked at the PBS programming guide.
        OMG. It’s all children’s programming.

Like the interstate highway system, the original reason for the public funding of broadcasting was civil defense.
The emergency broadcast system (now the emergency alert system) was established to keep the public informed of threats and attacks.
Remote areas with low population density where commercial broadcasting was not profitable were identified so those media markets had to be served. Public broadcasting was initiated to fill the gaps, to keep people in rural communities informed, not entertained.
It now supplies hours and hours of mindless children’s programming while emergency alerts go to our phones.

in 2023 the National Telecommunications and Information Administration funded the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program to the tune of $42+ billion , and public radio and TV became an anachronism.
There is nothing wrong with defunding the electronic babysitter. Its time has passed.

          1. what programs, exactly, are you watching? And why can’t they be like every other podcast?

And I repeat: the original purpose of public broadcasting was civil defense, not entertainment, in areas where there was no commercially available broadcasting.
For years there were areas where commercial broadcasting could not make a go of it. Not every home had a telephone, and some people’s only interactive connection to the outside world was a short wave radio.
I bet the average person under the age of 50 has no idea what a shortwave radio is.
            Those days are over
Billions of dollars has been spent on nationwide broadband access. There is no reason for the taxpayers to fund an anachronism.

    2. When attending the Cracker Barrels in Rapid City, HB was by far the least articulate legislator to show up at the events. About all she could say is the legislators receive a lot of requests for money. She is a fitness instructor, not educated for the position.

  4. I have some road work that needs to get done, and I don’t like worrying about who “owns” it or what “permits” are needed, so I think this endorsement is great!

  5. Bocks of rocks endorsing another box of rox, nathless the public is filled with low information voters. Young Mr. Davis must get his arse in gear and start educating people on the teevees and things. The facebooks are filled with those insaner than most.

  6. So let me get this right: a guy who firmly believes he’s above the law and can do whatever he wants to public property is telling us to trust his judgement in character…? No thanks.
