Phil around and find out. Jensen removed from House Education Committee

State Representative Phil Jensen found out from House Leadership today what happens when people grow weary of your antics.  It was announced that he has been removed from House Education Committee.

I would venture that it had as much to do with what he pulled last year – singling out Huron to zero fund their state aid to education – as it did when he joined Rep. Josephine Garcia in generally being a pain in the rear in committee over their seating assignments this last week.

I have no doubt Phil will continue to make a nuisance of himself as the chairman of the South Dakota Freedom Caucus.

Especially since they’ve given him freedom from his House Education Committee assignment.

Update:

Word is that Phil was replaced by Liz May. Jensen is noted by LRC as currently serving on House Taxation and Local Government.

Bit of a fall from being House Education vice chair last year.

    1. How Garcia could have gotten all the way through last year’s session without learning that moving a bill to the 41st day kills it, is unbelievable. What else doesn’t she know?

    1. My guess it’s all by design. Jensen endorsed Toby. They (Odenbach/Hansen) will replace Jensen with someone who has endorsed Hansen for Governor. They need that vote to get their agenda out of committee.

      1. I am more inclined to think Dr Graves might have let them know that if he has to answer questions about vaccine injuries he will not waste another minute of his time talking to them.
I know that’s what I would do. It is insulting to be expected to answer incredibly stupid questions.

    2. Leadership begrudgingly did this. Jensen is the scapegoat since he’s acted out before. There is zero chance Odenbach or Hansen have the balls to replace Garcia. They need these wackos on the education committee to get their stupid ideas out of committee. Let’s hope the house of cards is slowly toppling over!

  1. Thank goodness. Now lets get some sane people in there that actually want to work on education in south dakota instead of destroying it.

  2. To everyone who is shocked and surprised that these legislators had a temper tantrum over seating assignments…

Welcome to my life as a teacher.

    1. One would hope our elected officials have a bit more class than hormonal teenagers, but given the reality show that has taken over the White House, I guess all bets are off.

  3. “scum like MAGA”

We can give you a break today on that one. I imagine it’s really hard on you libturds emotionally, knowing that today is the WON YEAR (intentionally spelled “won”) anniversary of Trump taking office and beginning the slow process of fixing what Bidum broke. It’s evident that your TDS is having a severe flareup(s).

    1. blah blah blah – 1994 called, the Limbaugh estate wants the lame “Derangement Syndrome” joke you all stole to be returned, in full or by whatever overused bits of it are left. Lies, and stolen jokes. It’s all you got left. Trump will be a vegetable soon.

  4. Too little too late.

Garcia, Ismay, Jordan, & Manhart have no business being on that committee either.

    1. They have no business being in the legislature at all! They don’t even understand how the legislative process works. It’s an embarrassment!

    2. having these people on a committee is like having Hank Johnson on the Armed Services Committee, fretting that Guam might capsize under the weight of the US Marines.

when leadership assembles committees to make things as difficult as possible for the agencies which have to deal with them, it’s just a display of passive-aggressive opposition, and it’s childish.

  5. What Hansen did with the selection of the committees while he is in Leadership is a prelude to what his cabinet selections would be in the long shot that he is our next Governor.

    1. I agree. Putting all the clowns on the Education committee tells me Hansen doesn’t like Dr Graves and is just trying to piss him off

  6. There’s still some sanity in the South Dakota Republican Party. Not much left in Congress.
