If only I had a million dollars.... Well, I can guarantee you I wouldn’t be throwing it away on running for South Dakota Governor to feed my ego like Toby Doeden is.
Because in the latest campaign finance report filed today, Toby disclosed that he’s thrown another $2 million dollars on the bonfire of his vanities as he pursues trying to pretend he’s capable of being in charge of the state:

This comes at the same time as from all of his supporters all across the state, he’s only managed to raise $10,856.56.
I haven’t seen the other reports yet, but I feel pretty safe if I wagered that’s going to be even worse than Jon Hansen’s fundraising total.
But I suppose you don’t need people to support you when you feel you can just buy the job.
For the people yet he is himself donating ten million dollars for a vanity project no one asked for. Listen, I’m not a Hansen person in the slightest but I see why he ran against the wishes of Toby’s ego…
Toby is trying to buy his way to respectability. I’m surprised his supporters want a fat cat like that.
First off Toby is bragging that he has been self financing his own campaign.
Yes, only way Toby could put that type of money into his own campaign was through a load. In fact he did the same with the Pac he founded.
Wonder how many realize that a Campaign Loan can get interest, along with there being no time limit for it being paid back by the campaign.
So lets say Toby get 10% to 15% interest on the loan. That means Toby would make $200,000 to $300,000 on his loan, from any donations that do come in. . So much for him self financing his own campaign Sounds more like Toby has found a good place to line his pocket book even more.
I would hope the other three would raise more than the guy telling everyone not to give him money.

Toby we go way back my friend. Notice the establishment politicians attacking each other and ignoring you? This is how Mike Rounds won the governor’s race. Toby you will need to spend more money. Put it all on the line bud! Debt? Not a problem. The rewards outweigh the risk! You can do this! We can do this!

Toby is the only candidate not needing to give out favors in Pierre for contributions to his campaign. He publicly tells supporters to not give him money. This is why he is the best candidate.
He won’t need to give any out because he won’t be in Pierre to do it.
Don’t be so sure, I used to think we were the smartest bunch in the country, then we started cheering all the destruction. So Doeden might really win this thing.
He will give himself favors, and that is the problem. The current federal administration has used the office as a moneymaking venture by attempting to corner crypto trading, deals with the Saudis, and charging the federal government while it guards him at Mar A Lago. He draws no salary and still became a billionaire. Doeden has made clear his desired tax cuts on property ownership and other schemes that will net him millions. Use your head.
