South Dakota Democrats reported a far better month than the SDGOP had raising money. While state Republicans reported raising seven dollars and sixty-six cents, South Dakota Democrats were able to fare much better, according to the latest FEC report;

South Dakota Democrats raised $46,815.37 against $29,916.40 in expenses, leaving them with $64,600.48 cash on hand from about 60 pages worth of donations in their latest FEC report.

I’d point out that the SDGOP has a problem with their underwhelming fundraising, but I say the same thing every month, and it would not seem to be changing.

    1. apparently that’s what they are thinking, they are not going to need any money.
      Too bad they have to put on a convention to nominate candidates for constitutional offices

      1. I have no idea how they expect to pay for that. They attacked Lederman and Wiik for years because they charged registration fees. Think the current batch of SDGOP officers will be total hypocrites and charge a registration fee?

I will never forget the 2022 rules committee meeting at which Taffy Howard said the candidates should pay for the convention, not the delegates, and one woman loudly complained that they should not have had to pay for their own motel rooms. They were indignant that they didn’t get everything paid for with Other People’s Money.

          The candidates are not going to pay for delegates who aren’t going to vote for them, but they might pay the way for the delegates they can count on.
          I love this idea: instead of having to “PAY to vote,” which is what the delegates complained about, (“we shouldn’t have to pay to vote,” they said,) they can be PAID to vote. The candidates can BUY their votes. The new SDGOP can really set the bar in 2026; it’s going to be great.
          Who’s bringing the popcorn?

  2. YTD Total Net Contributions = $258K??? Only $154K from individuals. I know $100K doesn’t go very far but if no one knows the answer, I’ll have to dig later simply out of curiosity.
