  1. Most people don’t realize how much work goes on behind the scenes every time SDFRW issues a press release. It would have been much easier for them to do nothing and just trust that Christine will emerge victorious. I’m proud that SDFRW chose to stand up for the only Republican left in the race. I hope the other Republican organizations will follow their lead.

  2. The mayoral race is supposed to be non-partisan. Not needed for a Federation of Republican Women to endorse Christine. If they are promoting her because they support women competing for an office, it also not needed as the other person is a man. It is less foolish than a Governor candidate endorsing Erickson, especially a newcomer who is FOH.

  3. Having just watched the mayoral debate, i feel even more confident that Christine will win the runoff and do a terrific job as Sioux Falls’ mayor. Obviously she’s a woman. She’s a registered Republican and I believe a former member of the federation. If you’re telling me some logic pretzel prevents the federation of republican women from supporting her, it may be time to rethink the rules. Moreover, the SDDP not only endorsed her opponent but gave him 10 grand. I was impressed when I heard Christine discuss the necessity of municipal government “doing more with less.” I agree: that’s the mission. It won’t be easy, but I’m confident she’ll accept that challenge and work diligently to deliver results.
