I noted it in the post below, but it’s worth pulling out of all that text. I was informed today by a lobbyist that Speaker of the House Hansen has now declared that some of the formerly public restrooms in the Capitol are now solely reserved for legislators.
Really? Apparently it’s being overheard frequently that people have to say “I’m sorry are there public restrooms on this floor, or are they all reserved for legislators?”
I think someone is taking the legislature’s control of the 3rd & 4th floors a little too literally. Unless there are going to be a lot of votes that people have to hide on, I don’t think they aren’t going to be occupied so much they have to turn the public away. Or with it being an election year, are they?
Is this anywhere near the Stace Nelson “Have They Finished Voting Yet” bathroom?

Bathroom issues in the 2nd week?? I thought those issues came out in bills later on in session. Leave it to this legislative leadership to initiate problems that don’t exit!!
The bathrooms have always been for legislators only. Too frequently legislators were lobbied by lobbyists in the bathroom. There needs to be one place a legislator can be safe from lobbying.
It’s called their office, since they all have one. Also, it’s called the lobby. On the right side of each chamber with the sign “Legislators Only.” I have heard there are people who poop in the Stace Nelson Memorial Stall on weekends and on tours, just to say they did so.
We don’t have offices. It would be nice if we did have an office.
There’s nothing better than a pre warmed toilet seat. However, you’re always going to wonder who’s ass warmed it up.
