There’s a good story from Indian Country Today on the legislative careers of Republican State Rep. Tyler Tordsen & his mom, Republican State Rep. Tamara St. John.

  1. This is great and shows both sides that good communication can go along way. Speaking provocatively on both sides doesn’t solve any issues. Banning the Governor or saying the tribal leadership are profiting from drug sales isn’t going to solve any of those issues.
I believe the Governor could be doing a lot more to solve the issues on the reservations. She likes to talk about her people and the harm that Biden is doing to them but Biden issues don’t hold a candle to tribal issues. Throwing up your hands and saying the state doesn’t have jurisdiction is an excuse to do nothing. It’s hard and will take years and a lot of work and Tyler rightly says progress has been made but merely ceremonial. It’s time to work together to right the ship on the reservation. This starts with safety and it will take cooperation. We should not be sending our national guard people to the Mexican border if we have drug cartels inside our own state.
