Women suffering until we get rid of suffrage? Caroline Woods here for repealing 19th Amendment.

Remember a week or so back when Norman Woods, the executive director of right wing group Family Voice, had an editorial in the Dakota Scout trying to justify that it’s ok for 16 year old girls to marry 40 year old men if the parents say so, because it’s the left-coast liberals trying to tell people it’s bad?  Well.. apparently, his wife – former Doeden acolyte Carolyn Woods – is also writing editorials, and expressing her outrage claiming feminism is wreaking havoc on our culture.

But it’s not her article in the Federalist that should give you pause. It’s her facebook comment about her article:

Darned women! Who on earth decided to give women the right to vote?  Those darned liberal feminists from 100 years ago!

Some rando on the internet claims we need to repeal the 19th Amendment.. And Carolyn Woods is “Here for it?”

Norman wants underage girls to be able to marry? Caroline wants to take away women’s right to vote?

Wow.  It’s like a little Warren Jeffs encampment in the South Dakota political scene.

I don’t think I want either of these Hansen supporters having anything to do with any public policy. Whatsoever.

  1. They want to eliminate the right to vote for a majority of voters. They are so incredibly ignorant that they don’t deserve a complete respon…

  2. lol at least spell my name right, Democrat Pat! Must we have to correct everything 🤣

  3. I have heard more than a couple of people (legislators included) ranting about how sharia law is right around the corner and how that will take away women’s rights – especially the right to vote but it turns out the call is coming from in the house?

  4. I heard about this article and before I read it I asked the person who told me: “are the Woods part of the FLDS?”

These people are really want a handmaiden society.

  5. Actually I tend to agree. having been raised with brothers and growing up in a neighborhood which was predominantly male, I found other females to be incomprehensible.
I was sent to an all-girls boarding school to remedy this and I almost lost my mind. By the time I was at college in an all-female dorm, I was concerned I might be provoked to violence by the next person who complained “it’s not what you said, it was the way you said it.” I gave up trying to understand such a statement a very long time ago.
Other incomprehensible statements involve whether or not politicians “CARE” about people.
Women vote for or against candidates based on whether they perceive that person to care about them. Decisions are made based on “He cares about people like me,” or “he doesn’t care about anybody.”
If you want women to vote for you, send out Hallmark greeting cards. The Doeden team has this figured out and now has an ad featuring his wife talking about how much Toby CARES
The ad has no content at all. Toby cares about his family and he cares about South Dakota, and he cares about all of us. No content, no ideas, no plans, he just CARES so much.
And women eat this bullshit up. The ad is brilliant and nauseating all at the same time. The ad is targeting female voters. How anybody can see it, realize it’s crapola, realize who the target audience is, and not figure out that female voters are the problem here is a mystery to me. It should be obvious by now.

    1. I grew up in a household that was almost entirely male too. And you are right, Anne… my brothers were all so disciplined and motivated and thoughtful… ALL THE TIME. We guys are amazing!

  6. Helen Andrews has also written on this problem.

Look, have you seen the campaign ad featuringToby Doeden’s wife talking about how much Toby CARES?
It’s 100% crap and it’s targeting female voters. It is brilliant and nauseating all at the same time.
Toby doesn’t have any plans, solutions, new ideas. He just CARES about everybody so much!
Women eat this bullshit up. They vote for or against candidates based on how much they CARE about people.
How anybody can see that ad, recognize what crapola it is and who the target voters are, and not see what the problem is, is a mystery.

  7. I can’t call Thune a gaslighter on his thread, I’m not going to waste my time commenting on wretched fantasies that we are on the verge of emulating The Handmaid’s Tale.

    1. they will go from sea to sea, from the north to the east, from place to place to seek the truth but will not find it

  8. Worth noting Woods not only votes like the hypocrite she is but she votes by mail. Which proves she’s just someone to be ignored.

  9. Voting is not a right.

And you can track the decline of America back to the passage of the 19th Amendment.

    Repeal the 19th.

    1. Today, the United States remains a just and free nation. We are the greatest economic and military powerhouse ever developed. EVER!

Are you blaming women for that?

    2. And if we’re still not great enough after we repeal the 19th, then you’ll want to repeal the 15th.

      Swine.

  10. There is so much that is wrong (factually and morally) with this stance and some of the comments backing this stance that I don’t know where to begin…

“Voting is not a right.” Umm…yes it is. It is a right that has been enshrined in our Constitution, both through original language and through subsequent amendments (15th, 19th, 24th, 26th). Whether amendment or original language does not matter–amendments, once ratified, have the same fundamental authority as anything contained within the original language.

Removing the right to vote from segments of the population is yet another step away from our republican form of government and toward installation of a full-grown fascist government. I pray for you…and that your misguided beliefs do not take further hold in our society.

If we start stripping this right away from the female segment of the population, how much easier does it become for other lunatic sects of the nation to attempt to strip this right from other segments? Far too easy! Who’s to say that the next effort to strip voting rights would not target common sense-deficient extremists–like yourselves???

Citing 1 Timothy 2:12 as an argument against women having the right to vote…ughhh…. This poster apparently has not read Paul’s letters to the early churches in Phillipi, Thessalonica, or has not looked at other writings in which Paul supported the role of women in certain leadership positions within these congregations. This poster has apparently not read the multiple times where Paul refers to women as partners in ministry. Quit distorting God’s word to support your own mysogonistic beliefs.

    1. We had a non partisan group meeting last night with a dinner. 90% of the attendees were women and one shared this post. First question asked was who were the dummies supporting this? One called them by their organization nickname being Fascist Voice. All are voting today!

      1. Bravo! It is disconcertingly weird and patently ridiculous to read these misogynistic posts. It is vexing to that think in this day, and in this age, there are actually those who truly believe in the subjugation of half of our population based on their sex. Evidently, the threat posed by women hurts their big old masculine pride and christian nationalist identity. Women will NOT be marginalised by the patriarchy and those who willingly carry water for them. For the record, I raised seven strong, smart, and super kids~ female AND male. Their gender does not define them~ their hearts, minds, and souls do.
