The group promoting a Yes vote on Referred Law 21 has a positive & future oriented message from ag producers focusing on the jobs and economic impact that the pipeline project will bring to South Dakota, as well as the additional revenue that it will provide for counties.
Among the several ag producers featured, the ad also features farmer and former Secretary of the South Dakota State Department of Agriculture Walt Bones, Jr.

Wait I thought RL21 was just a “landowner bill of rights”…why are they talking about a pipeline??
For me it comes down to no eminent domain for private gain. This opens the door to expand eminent domain. Maybe Casey’s wants a store in your neighborhood and needs your property

First of all until they get granted status as a common carrier, they won’t have eminent domain rights. And when they do, it sure would be nice have recourse and safeguards in place. Eminent domain laws haven’t changed.
