Secretary of State Monae Johnson is currently in a war of words with State Representative Heather Baxter who is fronting for the election conspiracy goofballs.. (a.k.a. SD Canvassing) who is demanding a redo of elections because they think election equipment might have bluetooth:

We’ve had a review of the last two elections via post election audit. The only issues found were hand counting. Why doesn’t she want to talk about that.

She fired Roetman as soon as she got the nomination, then dumped the Weibels after the general election, 2 moves which made us realize she has more brains than we thought.

This! She ran on the crazy train – knocking off Barnett by kneeling to the conspiracy theorists. Then she gets the office and to her credit she becomes mostly sane and rational. But won’t it be ironic when the right wing crazies knock her off at the next primary? There’s a lot of us that won’t like the new crazy, whoever it is. But we also won’t shed a tear because she made her own bed.
And that’s her problem…. no one cares if she wins or not.

South Dakota Canvassing wants hand counted ballots. Of all the possible ways of counting ballots, that is the slowest and most susceptible to errors and fraud.
The fastest, most accurate and not susceptible to fraud are electronic machines, notwithstanding the fake news being spread about them. I managed a precinct that used electronic machines and nothing is as accurate or fraud proof.
it doesn’t matter whether ballots are hand-counted or machine-counted, as long as anybody can obtain the cardstock, print up counterfeit ballots and drop them off/mail them in. Or if ballots are cast by multiple people in multiple precincts.
South Dakota doesn’t have the same voting regulations as Minnesota, where a person can register to vote on election day with no identification or proof of age or residency, he just needs to be accompanied by another registered voter who can vouch for him. And one registered voter can vouch for as many as four people..I don’t think I could find even one US citizen who has no identification or proof of age or residency in his possession, but in Minnesota, individuals can each find four.
Election integrity is important and in some states there isn’t any .

in 2002 my son was in Minnesota on election day, he was in college there. I found out that evening he had not obtained an absentee ballot and gave him an earful.
So at 6:30 PM he went to a nearby polling place in a car with SD license tags, with a SD driver’s permit, and registered to vote and cast a ballot. He didn’t even have a Minnesota registered voter to vouch for him, but they didn’t care. South Dakota residents could probably drive across Minnesota on election day, register and vote in each town they pass through. Minnesotans don’t care. They’re all honey badgers, and they don’t give a shit who votes in their elections.
