  1. Come on, Dusty. Where have you been for the last 6 months on this issue and why didn’t you sign on to the discharge petition? Real leadership is not getting on the train after it’s left the station.

    1. Nah, he’s ONLY voting Yes because his idol president told him to. He wasn’t going to before. And trust me, trump will find a way to stop the release.

  2. The other Rep. Johnson, Speaker Mike Johnson, said this earlier today:

“I think it could be close to a unanimous vote because everybody here, all the Republicans, want to go on record to show for maximum transparency.”

Satan couldn’t have said it better.

      1. Never has a leader done so much to stop a vote. He did everything in his power to keep the files from the public, then claimed to be supporting the measure in the name of “transparency”. He has no shame.

  3. In my view, Dusty is absolutely right on this issue. The discharge petition failed to include adequate protections for victims and would have resulted in the complete unsealing of the federal grand jury record. Both of those outcomes would threaten personal privacy and undermine the rule of law. I hope the Senate makes the necessary changes so the files can be reviewed in full without compromising victim privacy. There are thousands of victims involved, and the impact on their daily lives could be significant. If individuals wish to remain anonymous, they have every right to do so—we should not be the ones to take that choice away from them.

As we all know, the internet can be harsh, quick to judge, and often lacking in compassion, much like the comment section on this blog at times. That’s exactly why strong privacy protections matter here and that is where the discharge petition fell short.

    1. Ummmm…..the President is still referring to all of this as a “hoax”. His word, not mine. Where is his concern for all of the victims that you are clutching your pearls over? His only concern about releasing the files has been for HIS privacy and protection, and certainly not the victims. Nice try.

  4. The victims themselves said they are fine with the language in the Discharge Petition. Grand Juries rarely, if ever, unseal documents for the public. They are hiding behind statements like yours because they know the files are devastating to hundreds if not thousands of rich, elite, child rapists. I don’t care if God himself is in the files, they need to be released NOW and trump could do it right now, this very second, if he wanted to since he was subpoenaed by the Oversight Committee quite some time ago; the Discharge Petition shouldn’t even be needed.

  5. It’s pure political genius on Dusty’s part to wait until critical mass had been obtained and this was going to happen regardless of his “leadership” on the issue. We can expect so much more of this with him as governor.

  6. If you let Trump do a POCKET VETO on this by dragging it to the holiday break, we will never forget or forgive the GOP.

    NO POCKET VETO
    NO POCKET VETO
    NO POCKET VETO
