Johnson Priorities Included in Annual Defense Bill
Washington, D.C. – Today, the House passed the 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) with several of U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson’s (R-S.D.) priorities, including funding for the Ellsworth Air Force Base B-21 Raiders, securing America’s supply chain, improving border security, and countering China.
“A strong and secure America requires a military that is prepared to meet the modern challenges of today and tomorrow,” said Johnson. “This defense package invests in our troops, secures our supply chains, and expands production capacity. These investments will reinforce our national security for generations to come.”
Johnson priorities included in the 2027 NDAA:
- Authorizes full funding for the Ellsworth B-21 Raider strategic bomber program.
- Authorizes a 5-7% pay raise for all service members.
- Authorizes $50 million in Impact Aid assistance to public schools with military dependent students.
- Authorizes funding for border security, including nearly $1 billion to fight drug trafficking.
- Counters the threat from China by investing in military readiness, removing China from our defense supply chain, and ensuring mission success in the Indo-Pacific region.
- Eliminates $30 billion in wasteful spending on obsolete or inefficient programs, government bureaucracy, and consulting.
