It sounds like this weekend was one where there were a number of Republican who weren’t getting along.
First off, in Watertown the word I’m hearing from a reliable source there was a big blowup at Friday’s Republican women meeting. Awful State Representative Garcia accused Senators Glen Vilhauer and Steph Sauder – two of the nicest people you would ever meet – of being bought and paid for.
This apparently led to a big shouting match between Dylan/Garcia vs Glenn/Sauder. This would be the same Garcia causing chaos at the Republican women’s meeting that caused chaos earlier in the year in the House Education meeting, because she didn’t like where she and Phil Jensen were being told to sit.
You never expect a Republican women’s meeting to break out into a shouting match. But, we didn’t have Garcia around before.
Speaking of Phil Jensen, Phil was busy this weekend participating in a rally being put on in Rapid City by one of the founders of Gays for Trump, Scot Presler.

Presler was in South Dakota to attack Senator Thune over working on the SAVE ACT, while Senator Thune was already remaining in Washington all weekend to working on passing the SAVE Act. (So would you call the rally redundant, or futile).

The event was led in part by Anti-Thune troll Julie Korth, whose group helped to recruit opponents like Bruce Whalen against the Senator in the last election. So this seems more like an ax to grind than anything organic.
There was also a rally of the malcontents and Thune haters in Sioux Falls as well, with a different cast attacking the Senator:

This crew had Korth’s fellow anti-Thune troll and ousted Minnehaha GOP VC Jennifer Foss..

Embattled Minnehaha County Auditor Leah Anderson was there, as well as last place gubernatorial wannabee Jon Hansen to help influencer Presler attack our senior Senator..

As was Minnesota election conspiracist Rick Weible.

Who were all there to support Presler going after our Senator..

What’s the quote that comes to mind for these rallies? “I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part!”.
Was there any useful result from this weekend’s rallies? No. Maybe.
After working with the founder of Gays for Trump on the rallies you might consider the possibility that Jon Hansen and Phil Jensen might be a little more friendly towards the LGBTQ+ community in the future. Since they both have been rather hostile in the past.
Maybe we can all get along.

I seen Eshbaum was also present and cozied up next to Frye Mueller at the Rapid City event and was clapping as Thune was being ridiculed. Not a good look for SDGOP. What’s next on the agenda for Phil Jensen and Jon Hansen, drag queen story hours? These folks are sickos.
saw* ?
Depending on how the primary goes he will either be emboldened or forgotten quickly.
I thought Hansen ended ”woke” in South Dakota?
WHAT WAS HANSEN DOING THERE?
Pandering for votes and going “woke” while participating in photo ops with Gommorah.
Any truth to the rumor that team Rhoden is working to get Hansen to run for AG? Mutual endorsements?
None.
Strange bedfellows.
No, just strange.
I love the full body shots (FBS) of the presenters; they are very flattering. Nice work!
Plus, they apparently had the lead singer of the Black Crowes there. I assume that’s who that person was, anyway.
Looks like they’ve been having a lot of meetings at Pizza Ranch lately. Make America Healthy Again.
The event in Rapid City had me wondering 2 things. What is the weight limit on this floor and where is the closest AED.
It’s petty to put down someone’s looks. Really juvenile actually.
Check out this loser! You want to cancel us? Wrong blog!
Stop being such a snowflake. Trump even recognizes obesity as a national emergency and a strain on our health care system as he has proposed cutting of VISAs for overweight immigrants. Most recently he has referred to JB Pritzker as a “fat slob”. JB looks like Adonis compared to 1/2 the attendees in Rapid.
One big can of mixed nuts! Thanks Trump Party!
The Trump cult has their derangement on full blast I see. Good grief. Thune is doing everything Trump wants short of holding his trousers during the diaper changes.
It’s full on comedic to have these Trumpers lambasting, hating and wishing for the eradication of Thune while Thune is at his personally Trumpiest best in carrying Trump’s tepid water on the SAVE voter eradication act and the TSA tantrum over ICE funding act extortion campaign, which the air travel industry is taking the full brunt of.
We freshly registered Dems who came over from the GOP because of Trump, want Thune gone along with the rest of the GOP over Trump’s utter destruction of our government, our economy, our traditional alliances, and world peace itself – the whole GOP should be perp-walked for standing back and “Letting Trump Be Trump.”
I’ll bet you freshly registered Dumdocrats miss Biden and his Vice President? Do you really miss wide open borders, rampant fraud, high crime by illegal aliens, these are just a few of Biden era incompetencies that Trump has ended. Can you imagine if Harris and Walz had been elected instead of Trump?
Looks like you are a parrot of Fox news. Most of what you say can be debunked with facts, those pesky facts, but doubt you would care.
The fact is Biden did allow open borders, there has been high crime committed by illegal aliens, fraud is rampant in Minnesota and California. These cannot be debunked only ignored by the ignorant.
If Harris Walz won:
We’d have an intact country, and a law abiding government ABLE TO PASS BIPARTISAN IMMIGRATION PLANS. Also Trump headed for prison or simply fleeing the US to avoid it.
This would actually have happened instead of the flaming fear-soaked communist armageddon which Fox loved to predict. Fox LIES TO YOU.
Look around. Trump actually has made us a
crumbling war-mongering technocratic oligarchy, doing the bidding of Russia. So YEAH I’d rather have had Kamala win ALL DAY LONG. No question.
TDS
Whatever
Wrong…yet again.
Whatever
And wrong yet again.
Whatever
You know who is the president now right? It’s not Biden.
Time for Trumpers to show some “personal responsibility” and own this presidency.
And your complaint about what is happening now? Illegal immigrants being deported, Good
Investigations of social services fraud, Good
war with Iran, Long overdue. Putin overextended in Ukraine, Russia can’t help. Xi on thin ice, China can’t help. Having played Hamas, encouraging their useful idiots to attack Israel, Iran left Hamas hanging out to dry.
Now Russia and China are leaving Iran out to dry. Perfect.
If you find a planet where your wish list is happening you should go there.
Stop putting gold paint over the murderous mess Trump has made.
Also on your “victory” list put a pending deployment of 5,000 paratroopers into Iran, whenever Trump feels ready to spring that surprise on them.
I could not attend the Sioux Falls event because I am not willing to give up my Second Amendment rights to attend a Republican event. The fact that firearms were banned and I would have to subject myself to being searched was all I needed to tell me these were not freedom loving Americans, so I took a pass.
They banned firearms at this event? LOL.
I heard they banned them at the Lincoln Day Dinner, too.
Wow! I’ve been to various Democratic Party events and they did not ban firearms at their events. Not long ago they were having a raffle for some nice pistols and rifles.
Dems don’t have a “gays for [insert leader]” club, last I checked.
Somebody in a different discussion made reference to Tom Katus, a Democrat who won a D32 house seat with Stan Adelstein’s support, after Adelstein got primaried by a Wingnut. Say what you want, Katus was a good guy, a straight shooter and was there to serve all the people. Oddly enough, I met him for the first time at his booth at a Citizens For Liberty event featuring Ted Nugent. He reached out to EVERYBODY.
Isn’t the Democratic Party the ones trying to take away guns? Why would they be carrying guns at any event if they don’t believe we should have them? More hypocracy.
Because they aren’t really trying to take away guns. Don’t you think that would have happened by now if that was the case? No, they want COMMON SENSE GUN LAWS. There’s a huge difference. And I, as a Dem, own several guns.
Remind me, what President said “take the guns first, due process later.”
The phrase “take the guns first, due process later” was spoken by Donald Trump during a bipartisan meeting on school safety and gun control at the White House on February 28, 2018.
Some people call it political fragmentation.Others say voters are just tired of the old guard. A few insist it’s a weird phase that’ll sort itself out.
But if Districts 4 and 5 double down again with Jordan and Garcia, the bar for “bizarre” drops so low that Districts 1 and 3 start looking like the responsible ones. Which is… saying something.
Q: What do all of these wackos have in common with “traditional” everyday Republican elected officials all across our state and our nation?
A: They ALL profess absolute fealty, bend their knees and lick the boots of the orange draft dodger who just tweeted “I’m glad he’s dead”, referring to a decorated Vietnam VOLUNTEER war hero and dedicated public servant, a lifelong Republican who always did the job he was asked to do by his country. Aren’t you all just thrilled to have such a crude and insufferably nasty man provide the shining example so badly needed by your kids and grandkids and the youth of America?
You poke fun at the Star Wars bar scene cast of characters at these rallies supporting the so-called SAVE Act. Yet there is zero space between these wackos and the regulars who are poking fun at them with respect to the voter suppression bill you are, one and all, publicly supporting as you whistle past the graveyard of the upcoming midterms.
How are you going to separate yourselves from the crazies before the sh*t hits the fan while you ALL publicly continue to worship the very same conniving, draft-dodging sexual predator?
To our current rubber stamp MOC’s: “I was just following orders” didn’t pass muster in postwar Germany, and it won’t work here either.
Yawn
“Q “What do all of these wackos have in common with “traditional” everyday Republican elected officials????..”
A: These “wackos” are creatures OF the GOP. These “wackos” appeared when the GOP started pandering to people with single hot-button issues. Take your pick: guns, anti-choice (of reproductive choice only, NOT anti-school choice though, cuz that’s different) anti-poor, anti-science, anti-immigrant, anti freedom of religion, anti-LGBTQ… The GOP did it, some holding their nose all the way, to patch together a winning coalition of voters.
Single issue appeal is a lazy man’s way to fulfill a citizen’s voting responsibility to our democracy, but it sure works. Mix in a few interest groups and hucksters making money off those issues, and bright shiny slick postcards and you’ve changed the whole system forever, for good or evil.
You created these wackos. They are your very own, and now you’re stuck with them. Problem is, so is our democracy.
You ridicule Trump for not serving yet did you call for the removal of Blumenthal for stating how he served in Vietnam yet never left the States? That is stolen valor which worse than what you slander Trump for.
Why do you all cover up a trump lie or atrocity with pointing fingers at someone else. That’s elementary school stuff. Grow up and accept a truth when you see it.
Why do you cover up a Blumenthal lie by pointing fingers at others, maybe you need to grow up.
From Big Daddy DJT today:
“You don’t have to take a fast vote, don’t worry about Easter, going home — in fact make this one for Jesus.”
“I’m tying Homeland Security into voter identification, with picture, and proof of citizenship in order to vote,” he said. “Those two items are the most important thing having to do with homeland security so it should be part of the Homeland Security bill.”
Meanwhile Thune was badmouthing Trump’s supporters when he downplayed the conservative backlash he is facing over the SAVE America Act, chalking it up to a “paid influencer ecosystem” that is amplifying calls for its passage.
So, those rally goers from Sunday are supporting President’s Trump’s push to get this bill passed and obviously Thune doesn’t like having his hand forced to do things that our outside of his comfort zone.
Why is this website badmouthing President Trump’s priorities?
This website is presenting news as they find it, and taking comments from all sides. Clearly.
Thune isn’t letting it stop him from super-serving Trump, but Thune is absolutely correct to expose the blog-o-sphere paid bots herding and cramming the GOP tightly into Trump’s picket at all times.
Thune should be ushered out in a general election, not whacked by these nutcases in the primaries.
Thune may be a Trumper (lite), but he is more so a Senate institutionalist. He knows if the filibuster is eliminated, the GOP won’t have a way to stop things they don’t like when they are again in the minority. Political fortunes ebb and flow. Most rules of the U.S. Senate don’t.
I’m very confused….the large faction of the SDGOP is STRONGLY against gay people and yet….well…they were there…? So, if someone is GOP Gay its ok? Someone explain this to me like I’m in 2nd grade….
Right. I’ve listened to Tonchi and her crazy fried from east of Rapid lecture school boards about the LGBQT indoctrination in the public schools. And here they are, front row, cheering on Sodom as he runs down Thune. All while Logan Manhart is working the crowd for Toby governor signatures. It was wild.
Bet Manfart flirted with him too.
You appear to be jealous.
That would not surprise us at all.
I wasted a good two hours of my life getting flocked by these incompetent nut jobs just wanting to listen to election integrity. Just pass the SAVE act already it’s common sense. If Thune is a so called institutionalist he would know all plays to get it heard and passed before Easter recess. Also Jon Hanson we all know you are two faced.
No, the SAVE act is not common sense. It’s nothing more than kowtowing to Trump’s paranoia that an election was stolen from him, which he has never produced evidence for. Get real.
No the SAVE act IS common sense, if you have to show ID in order to check a book out at a library, buy beer, buy cigerettes, to get on an airplane, then why wouldn’t you have to show ID to vote? Nobody fought and gave their lives so you could by beer without ID but they did for the right to vote.
This last sentence makes no sense no matter how many times I read it. Also, people already have to prove their identity to vote. You clearly have no idea what is in the actual bill but are here speaking up for it anyway.
No they don’t have to prove identity to vote, haven’t you heard of mail in ballots? These are not absentee ballots just ballots randomly mailed out to any and all addresses in areas no matter who lives at that address now.
And how many cases of voter fraud have been committed on that basis? Come on: show us the problem!
you don’t seriously believe that elected prosecutors are going to investigate and prosecute fraud in an election they won, do you?
It’s like the crime stats. Crime rates drop in cities where the police are ordered to stop arresting people. Then the people who ordered the police to stand down brag about how they’ve reduced crime and should be re-elected.
So, none. Because you just made it up. Cool.
None of you pro-SAVE act people have actually read the bill.
You are all ride-or-die Trump suicide lemmings. You got told by Fox News that Obama and Dems were going to outlaw you, Pelosi steamrollered your party a couple of times AND YOU DECIDED TO STOP ASKING FOR MORALS AND LAWFUL BEHAVIOR. You wanted Trump to win and burn the whole system to the ground. You don’t give a RATS BUTT that we already only let citizens vote with showing their drivers license at the polls and there is NO FRAUD.
The SAVE act helps Trump burn it all down so you’re all glad for him to have what he wants. This is why we hate Trump’s 2nd term and hate you all that made it happen.
I bet all of these people are delegates.
You misspelled degenerates.
These people do NOT support Trump.
I don’t remember the first time i heard Trump say he wanted voter ID laws, but the SAVE Act is not a surprise, it’s what he said he would do. The people who voted for Trump voted for that.
Thune is attempting to advance Trump’s agenda, and they don’t like it.
These are the same people who didn’t want the vaccine which Trump rushed into production and received himself as soon as he passed the recommended 90 days post infection.
Whatever else they are, they are NOT Trump supporters..Don’t lump the Trump voters in with them.
