In the ad, Governor Rhoden highlights the following results that he has delivered:

“Some folks want you to think South Dakota’s broken. It’s not. Things aren’t perfect – but here, we fix things,” continued Governor Rhoden. “Good things last when you take care of them. And we’re just getting started.”

      1. Too little too late.

This is a pretty weak ad. Visually good. Message weak.

Dusty is gutting Larry and Larry responds with this.

        1. That was Dusty’s plan all along, whether he has to lie or not, to destroy Larry. I’m glad Larry is speaking truth and focusing on the good things. Keep up the good work, Larry!

  1. Tell me what your plans are then. All you’ve done for the past two years is ride off things Noem started.

      1. I totally understand Rhoden supporters being pretty confident, he did dispatch the venerable Stace Nelson for 2nd place in his only statewide race.

      2. His last office was Lt. Governor for 6 years. He has been in leadership in both the state Senate and House for years. Where have you been?

  2. There are a lot of people struggling. I don’t think they’re going to respond well to Rhoden telling them that our economy is doing great.

  3. I shouldn’t have to turn up my phone’s brightness to see an ad. I know the Rhoden camp is hurting for cash, but turning off the lights won’t save enough to win this thing.

    1. Dusty is a part of the DC spending spree. Today he was bragging about the 28 million building HE helped to get funded for Watertown. Yup. He is watching taxpayer pennies all right. Listen to him say that as he is walking down the Dusty trail.

  4. its a good ad. looks and sounds like a real person….whereas dusty always looks like he is acting a role, whatever role he needs to play at the moment.

  5. Ian Fury looks like he’s hoping someone else does the dirty work. If there is a difference between Larry and Dusty let us know. Otherwise people will vote for the frontrunner.

  6. I think the message he is trying to convey is SD is actually pretty awesome and not some hellhole that needs fixing. If you think that, you should get out more.
We are a conservative state which by definition means we are slow to change our ways and value our traditions. That, in my mind is a great thing as we resist whatever populist movement that comes around. You want a progressive state? There are plenty of other options. We need development and progress but the right kind and what supports our values.
In Rhoden’s 15 months of being Governor, he has pretty much delivered what he said what he was going to do.

    1. I like your wording. It baffles me when Democrats call our state backwards (because we don’t accept their long list of social issues). I’m going to use your wording! (We are a conservative state which by definition means we are slow to change our ways and value our traditions. That, in my mind is a great thing as we resist whatever populist movement that comes around. You want a progressive state? There are plenty of other options. We need development and progress but the right kind and what supports our values.)

    1. Better tell Dusty that then. He could save alot of money. Candidates don’t typically spend millions on negative ads because they’re confident. They spend it on whoever they think will be their biggest threat.

      1. You’re all full of ideas. Why don’t YOU call Dusty and give him your precious notions as they occur to you.

  7. Rhoden is sitting at his old bosses desk that is just about as empty as his promises.
Nothing in there but an opened box of party balloons and a dead cricket.

    Nothing to mention the stink….
You can’t get rid of that stink.

    1. What did he state in his first address that he did not deliver on? He delivered all of them which is HIGHLY unusual especially in 15 months. I’ll agree that Kristi’s recent issues is not a help for sure.

  8. Best Governor who’s accomplished the most in his first year in office. SD better think about making any kind of change like a DC style ‘pay to play’ governor, an extremist who claims credit for things that were not his and while claiming he’s the most pro life while taking over $160,000 from the Life Defense Fund, or a slum lord who buys up businesses and then shuts them down after making his fortune by selling his bitcoin. They all have to hire new people to fill important jobs that help South Dakotans. That’s scary.
Right now you know you have a productive fighter and protector of South Dakota in Governor Rhoden who is making great strides in agriculture, business, safety and more with a Lt. Governor who is effective and smart as a whip. Larry Rhoden is one of us, accessible and wanting always to help and has an outstanding team in place.

    1. Amen. Not to mention, his lifetime conservative CPAC voting rating is higher than Hansen’s record and significantly higher than Dusty’s record. And well, Doeden’s record is, um, none.
