Aberdeen City Council member Jennifer Slaight-Hansen denies she’s Brown County Dem Chair to constituent, and tells him to “get a grip” when he calls her out on it.

Apparently its a day of blunders for Aberdeen City Councilwoman Jennifer Slaight-Hansen.

Coming on the heels of the earlier post about her lashing out at GOP State Legislator Al Novstrup, Dan Richardt of Aberdeen asked the councilwoman about being the Democrat Party County Chairwoman for Brown County. And she provided an interesting response:

And after this, Dan trusted her response. But when he went to verify (as in trust, but verify), he encountered “an alternative set of facts” from what was stated by Slaight-Hansen by the Democrat Party and the Secretary of State:

And it might also be worth mentioning that the Brown County Democrats have something to say about the state of their leadership, as well:

So, the Democrat Party says she’s the chair, and the Secretary of State says she’s the chair. And the Brown County Democrats say they aren’t holding elections for at least 2 weeks… So I don’t think anyone would think Dan is being off base by thinking he’s been lied to.

And he let her know it:

And what was Councilwoman Slaight-Hansen’s response to being caught in an apparent lie?

No explanation. No apology. Not even a denial. When confronted with what appears to be a false statement, Aberdeen City Councilwoman Jennifer Slaight-Hansen told a constituent to “get a grip.”

Wow.

    1. The NorthWest district voters I know are voting to re-elect Jennifer Slaight-Hansen. She volunteers quite a bit and has donated a lot of her time to Aberdeen organizations contributing to the community

      1. If by volunteering you mean offering up tax dollars via TIFs to a board she also happens to sit on (HAPI) that then appropriates money to a company she happens to work for. Then yes she is really “volunteering” for the community.
        #cronyism

        1. (HAPI) is a great organization being a trailblazer for innovation, affordable housing and growth in Aberdeen.

          1. Cool story bro. Still wreaks of cronyism when a city council member votes to give a board they sit on tax dollars that then get spent back at their place of work.

            1. It is a no brainer with how she voted in that (HAPI) benefits not only Aberdeen but their success has been used as an example across the state.

                1. Of course she didn’t. You’d think that would be the no brainer but apparently anon @12:38 doesn’t think so.

  1. I miss the days where there was honor
And public officers actually did public office things
Both are idiots like both parties.
Concentrating on the 5th grade mentality, “your a liar, I am not your a liar” when we actually are struggling and drowning in real issues…..like ag issues and road issues and bridge issues just to name a few

  2. PP you left out part of the insane, both go on about” liking” or “not liking a page, “get a grip”, I did not like you page, yes you did, no I didn’t…….and so forth…..not impressed
    (Article yes, content subjects no)

    1. I guess I take offense to being called an idiot “T”. Pretty easy to hide behind a screen and call people names. Stay classy

      1. Oh woath me, Dan R, typical fashion
One must explain themselves. I’ll play along and enlighten you,,, I did not mean personally, you
But go ahead and jump in here fo Ethel deserving attention you seem to need. I meant the metaphor, both are idiots as to behavior of 5th graders and “both parties” they claim to represent. I am not the same republican as this behavior displayed. Ya thanks I will try and stay classy, like San Diego (Ron burgundy said if first)

  3. So, she didn’t deny lying. If he was wrong she would have pointed it out. Instead of addressing her falsehood she tries to make his reaction (a bit out of proportion without knowing more) the issue and not her lie. She comes off as someone who doesn’t admit being wrong and then deflecting.
