  1. The BoR budgets almost 6 million dollars on diversity offices? What do they spend it on?

    1. It saddens me to think that “fiscally minded” Republicans don’t mind spending almost 6 mil on making people feel better about themselves.a

      1. Actually, I think it’s mostly protection money to keep the lawyers and feds away.

    1. I will consider that after the State gives me a refund on my house loan, my car loan, my boat loan, my camper loan, my small business loan, and all future loans I may take out.

      1. I agree; these kids make a choice to rack up a ton of debt; everybody doesn’t have to go to college, and there are a lot of kids that shouldn’t. Why should those of us who have already gone through it all subsidize everybody who still has a choice to make?

Not a libertarian or conservative idea.

      2. Well then quit raising tuition and fees. There is a reason college enrollment is declining in SD. Your personal loans aren’t borrowed from the government. Government is ripping off these students. 90% of 18 year olds have no idea what they are signing.

  2. These regental fellows are insaner than most. Make those kids toe the line and go to school like the rest of us did, and suck up their hurt feelings that the chairs aren’t a color that makes them feel better about themselves. And eat the slop they serve there in the Union, or march yourself over to the Hall Inn for a pizza, like everybody else did.

  3. These offices must be closed. They are a huge waste of money. They just fund radical leftists.

  4. The problem is, if the state gets rid of diversity offices, they may lose some federal funding. Every conservative college I researched has diversity offices.

  5. If the state is funding the diversity offices to a tune of $5.9 million dollars, well there you have it. Don’t blame the colleges when you are appropriating the money.
