Rhoden for Governor Announces Key Staff
Pierre, SD – Today, the Rhoden for Governor campaign announced key staff for the upcoming June primary. Ian Fury will serve as Campaign Manager, and Lexie Warejcka will serve as Finance Director.
“I have a capable team in both my official office and on my campaign,” said Governor Larry Rhoden. “Ian and Lexie are both incredibly competent, and I look forward to having them work with me on this campaign to help us keep South Dakota strong, safe, and free.”
Ian Fury has served as Director of Communications for both Governor Rhoden and Former Governor Noem for the last six years. Most recently, he also served Governor Rhoden as a Senior Advisor and Unborn Child Advocate. His wife, Hannah, is from Winner, and they live in Pierre with two young children.
“I am unbelievably humbled that Governor Rhoden asked me to serve in this capacity,” said Campaign Manager Ian Fury. “The Governor is a leader who is Built to Last. He has already proven his ability to get things done. Now, we just need to deliver a victory so he can keep racking up results for the next four years.”
Lexie Warejcka has served in several capacities across state government, most recently as Administrative Director for the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. She and her husband, Wade, live in Platte with two young children.
“Thank you to Governor Rhoden for the opportunity! I look forward to connecting with supporters across South Dakota who are committed to keeping our state strong, safe, and free,” said Finance Director Lexie Warejcka.
Fury and Warejcka are both taking unpaid leaves of absence from state government employment while they serve the Rhoden for Governor campaign.

Keeping Fury is a bad decision by Rhoden, but long term good for the state if that slimy little weasel finally goes down with the ship.
Ian is a big fish in a little pond.
Lol, Ian isn’t even good at his current job. If he was Noem would have taken him with her to DC.
Time for a whole new team running state government.
Ian should go back to Hillsdale.
Long overdue for a change in the executive branch. New blood and ideas. Burning Sage would help rid the Governor’s office of all the evil spirits from Noem.
Fury is a great pick as campaign manager — if you want someone who won’t return phone calls from the media but will blast them on social media. Of all the seasoned campaign managers out there, this seems like a weak pick. Plus, it still ties Larry to Kristi, which I would be running away from. Good luck, Larry. You’ll need it.
Set the bar pretty low, Larry. Disappointing.
The play called from the bench has the team doubling down on a message that Rhoden’s your choice, to keep Donald Trump and Kristi Noem’s leadership ON COURSE.
The gamble is whether there are any Trump and Noem fans left to score once they get to the end zone. Let’s see how this plays out at first and ten from the 40.
Enjoy your unpaid time off.
Just when I thought Larry might be my pick, he pulls this blunder. Oh well, back to who do not want, Dusty or Toby.
My God, we made a mistake choosing Noem over Sutton. Paying for it now and well into the future, I am afraid.
Dusty is by far the better option, but the man’s a partially-unmoored windsock on a good day. Short-term people-pleasing is not a grounded strategy for long-term prosperity.
Ian Fury ……………… Adios Rhoden in the primary
Okay is it just me or does Larry say the word “strong” in a weird way? Just saw one of him commercials. I can’t not hear it.
Rhoden’s ads are amazing. If he wins it will be in large part because they are by far the best ads in the race.
Mike Rounds also has great ads.
For the most part they are just about the ONLY ads
As long as the public doesn’t get irritated that he sounds like a deaf person when he says “strong.” I agree with 6:28.
Attacking your opponent’s staff is a sign of insecurity.
And whining about people pointing out your candidate’s bad decisions shows a distinct lack of confidence.
A finance director from GOED?
They will all travel the state campaigning in the state plane, on your dime. Are we really to believe they gave up their state benefits like retirement and health insurance to work on a campaign? Smells bad.
No state plane for campaign purposes… ever. That’s illegal, and it’s never been done.
As for benefits, we are writing a check to the State every month so that there’s no cost to the taxpayers.
And we would believe you why???? You worked for Kristi Noem!!
Are we really pretending that Ian hasn’t already been the campaign manager since the beginning? Looks like Rhoden just finally decided to make it official
