Republicans aren’t asking for Gordon Howie to cleanse the party. Or to do anything at all.

Two weeks ago, Gordon Howie was complaining from his broken (and current) political party, the South Dakota Constitution Party that  “Those ‘leaders’ who do not follow Republican Party Platform Principles have to be replaced with people who will support those principles,

Now, the man who declared “the Constitution Party is going to be the Tea Party on steroids” in 2018 is back once again this morning trying to create some false narrative that people want him to return to the GOP to save us from ourselves.

Because that couldn’t be farther from the case:

When Mike Rounds vetoed the first abortion ban in SD, it pushed me into the political arena to begin with. It is what motivated me to run for State Legislature. I have always believed that the Republican Party Platform very closely articulated my core values. Now, years later, that Platform still reflects my values. The question for me is and has been, “How can I best support, defend and promote those values”? As I survey the current political landscape, I am nearing a conclusion that the best way to ‘cleanse’ the Republican Party of those who have ignored and done damage to the principles/Platform is to work from within.

You can read that here. (Eye-rolling may ensue)

Interestingly, when Howie first ran, the abortion issue “pushed (him) into the political arena?”  Funny. That’s not what he said in the newspaper back when he first ran..

(Rapid City Journal 10/29/2004, page 8)

In addition to his memory issues, Gordon should also get his cognitive abilities looked at as well. NO ONE is asking the Constitution Party member to come back to the GOP to ‘cleanse’ it.

In 2018, the current membership of the Republican party met in Pierre having worked on, voted on, and passed the Republican Party Platform.  And somehow, they managed to do so while he was out recruiting people to join the Constitution Party.

The South Dakota Republican Party isn’t looking for Gordon to perform a “cleansing.”  In fact, I think it’s safe to say that they aren’t looking for him to do anything. At all.

  1. Dear Gordy,

“Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?” Luke 6:42

  2. If you leave the party and join another party you should not be allowed to hold a party office for 4 years. That way they cannot influence the party that they obviously do not have any respect for and are not loyal to their actual principles of the party

  3. Why is the GOP only supposed to be a big tent for liberals like Knudsen, Rhoden, Peters, Dempster, Rounds, Partridge and Soholt? Why not be a welcoming big tent to conservatives? Why is the GOP establishment always at war with conservatives?

    1. the conservatives are scorched-earth against anyone who deigns to crush their soaring spirits and deny their dearest wants. the political reality is that the state gop has the burden of shouldering the running of the state, as well as responding to a lot of political needs that would be shouldered more by democrats, if sd had any who won office that is. rather than accept that the best thing a majority party can do is govern for the benefit of all, the big “C” Conservatives in the state government would rather berate the gop for being a rino-infested hell and order the gop to kneel before them. buy a clue. get in the gop and advocate from a spirit of collegiality or just stay out.

  4. ‘The South Dakota Republican Party isn’t looking for Gordon to perform a “cleansing.”’

The SDGOP isn’t looking for any “cleansing” period. They like the conservative talk, but they can’t do the walk.

  5. The GOP “establishment” (term used by the nut jobs rejected to be leaders to denigrate the people elected to leadership ) are true conservatives. It’s the faux conservative nut jobs who start the shooting war and whine when people shoot back.

    1. They are not true conservatives when they are successful in implementing liberal tax and spend policies. Sad that those of us who expose such truth are demonized by the SDGOP Establishment loyalists for being “nut jobs”.

    1. Mrs. Volesky, Messrs. Howie and Sibson are two of the insanest of the nut jobbers.

  6. Mr. Howie, the first fellow to be insaner than most, did eventually repay grudznick for the funds contributed to his gubernatorial election when he then overgodded on all of us.

That all water under the Hermosa bridge, if Mr. Howie were to run for Governor again grudznick could be persuaded to give counsel. No money. Just advice. We will start with the shampoo and haircut….

    1. And no overgodding. Mr. Howie needs to forswear, on the pain of his soul going to the Devil, NO MORE OVERGODDING!!! Or grudznick will jam his own god down Mr. Howie’s maw.

        1. Jamming your god down my maw, and the maw of others, when we don’t want it. That, good sir, is overgodding. Keep your god out of my government.

          1. I see. Thanks.

            To quote Emerson:
“The louder he talked of his honor, the faster we counted our spoons”

IMO Howie is simply not genuine about that, and that is why he over-uses religious references. He is trying to convince others that he is something he is not.

            BTW, I was anonymous above
