Dakota News Now had arguably the best coverage of last night’s riots

From Facebook and Dakota News Now:

Dakota News Now had what was probably the best coverage of the riots at Empire Mall and other parts of Sioux Falls last night, especially the weird part about the people who wouldn’t leave the parking lot of the Verizon store.

  1. Agreed! They were quick to go live and had almost exclusive coverage online and on television for the first hour or two. I switched over to keloland to see whatever TV program airing like normal. Tea Storm Chasers and Argus 911 were all over it on social media.

  2. I think Brady from Keloland was afraid to get his hair messed up. It looked like he was over a block away, meanwhile the group from KDLT/KSFY was at the front and center of the action.

  3. Quick clarification: It was the Empire Mall, not Western Mall. KELOLAND TV has become much more liberal in its coverage of local and national issues. This morning, they spent most of their coverage on the earlier rally rather than the looting/riots.We will not forget the damage 700-1200 individuals caused in Sioux Falls last night.

    1. People also won’t forget that a cop caused the riots in the first place by committing homicide.

      1. These riots have nothing to do with the man’s death, and everything to do with the destruction of our country. Their own words. We forget that at our peril.

    2. Probably more like out of state paid rioters. There were a lot of teenyboppers just checking everything out. I respect SD police officers and protesters. Thanks for your service and protesters, thanks for bringing out injustices. Stay vigilante.

  4. “Maybe the next time a white police officer decides to pull the trigger, he will picture cities burning.”

    1. WHAT!!! You realize you diminish the man’s death when you make stuff up and use it for your unusual political narrative. There was no “trigger” pulled in Minneapolis. You don’t want an officer defending your family or community to stop to make political assessments before doing their job. The officers’ families surely don’t want them to hesitate in the face of danger – that’s how law enforcement officers get to come home in body bags.

    2. in “1984” the inner party handler o’brien tells smith that the vision of Ingsoc’s future is the image of a jack-boot, constantly smashing down a human face. why couldn’t it also be a knee?

  5. Dakota News Now NAILED that coverage last night.

    Hats off to Carleen Wild!

  6. Dakota News Now needs to fix their technology and communication from the field and studio. Stick with satellite connections. The cell system gets overwhelmed when news is happening.

I also think the camera work was lacking as it needed some height to giver perspective.
