State Senator Neal Tapio Calls on South Dakota Secretary of State Shantel Krebs to Take a Position on Kobach Muslim Registry Program

Press Release:

State Senator Neal Tapio Calls on South Dakota Secretary of State Shantel Krebs to Take a Position on Kobach Muslim Registry Program

Former South Dakota Trump Campaign Director Neal Tapio, calls on South Dakota Secretary of State, Shantel Krebs to clarify her own stance on Muslim immigration and refugee resettlement, and to reveal whether she agrees or disagrees with the policies of Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, more specifically, dealing with Kobach’s concept commonly known as a “National Muslim Registry.”

Kobach, who recently endorsed Krebs in her race for South Dakota’s lone Congressional seat and will be appearing at a Krebs campaign fundraiser, is a former Trump campaign advisor most famous for his calls for a creation of a Muslim registry.  Tapio, Trump’s campaign director in South Dakota, believes Kobach’s endorsement may be a case of mistaken political identity.

“I’ve known Shantel Krebs for nearly 20 years, I was quite surprised when Kris Kobach endorsed a candidate that would be afraid to even utter the words ‘Muslim, ‘Islam’ and “Terrorism” in public, let alone in the same sentence,” Tapio said.

“The truth is, Shantel Krebs has made a nice, comfortable career being a politician who is much more likely to disavow people who boldly try to solve problems in the way President Trump and even Secretary Kobach does and has, especially on this very important topic.”

“To determine if this newfound boldness is a real conversion or just typical election year pandering, I will definitely offer to work with Shantel this upcoming legislative session to craft stringent new laws addressing Islamic refugee vetting and resettlement, as well as curtailing foreign investment in South Dakota businesses and organizations by nations that embrace the hateful and extremist implementation of mainstream versions of Islamic Law. We must protect all people, regardless of faith, from the dangerous laws of apostacy and blasphemy, where fellow adherents of extremist ideologies will kill you for leaving or even criticizing Islam, as practiced and endorsed by 14 Islamic countries.” Tapio said.

“We need candidates who have a strength of purpose and a boldness of conviction to publicly state what needs to be said and then stand and take the heat, just like President Donald Trump,”  Tapio said.

  1. Mr. Tapio is insaner than Ms. Hubbel, but not as stupid especially on the facebooks and twitters.

    1. Mr. Tapio and Ms. Hubbel are quite informed and aware of trafficking and exploiting immigration labor. They are not for sanctuary cities which is taking place right here in SD. They are not afraid to talk about the difficult issues.

  2. The echoes of WWII are loud. Has anyone been to the old Japanese internment camp between Powell and Cody Wyoming? It’s a stark and harsh reminder of what happens when we make lists. And what comes next is awful. Why would someone like Shantel, who understandably doesn’t support a gun registry, now support a people registry? It just doesn’t make any sense.

    1. There is a big difference between an internment camp and a registry. American Muslims should embrace registering. It shows they are all for keeping America safe. We register what nationality we are in schools and colleges.

  3. Holding an event to highlight the endorsement of a racist is not what we need in South Dakota. Krebs should cancel this event. Kobach wants a minority group to be put on a registry. This kind of bigotry cannot be tolerated.

    1. If I was an AMERICAN Muslim instead of a SHARIA Muslim I would want a registry too. SD should have zero tolerance for Shariah law.

  4. Republicans should should be calling Krebs and demanding she cancel this event. Tell Krebs we do not support segregation, minority registry, or racism. Her office phone is 605-773-3537.

  5. Now that we all know that Dusty is going to garner the Republican nomination for Congress next year, how do you think he will fair against the Judge?….. Is it Andy versus Opie?…… South Dakota can be Mayberry at times…..

    1. Sorry EC, if you don’t think immigration is going to be an important issue in this next election, you might want to check out the hundreds of people that are attending these events. I wouldn’t call them bigots or racists, I would call them loyal Americans.

  6. Tapio “I will definitely offer to work with Shantel this upcoming legislative session to craft stringent new laws . . . ”

Really? The guy sponsored a “resolution” but not a single bill. Not a single bill. It’s not that he didn’t pass a single bill. He didn’t sponsor one.

Tapio struts and frets his hour upon the stage. And then is heard no more. Tapio is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

  7. It’s hard to pass any conservative legislation when fighting against a non-conservative Legislature.

  8. I am planning on voting for someone who looks at the issues thoroughly, weighs out all the consequences of every action, doesn’t cower to bullies (AKA lobbyiet groups and individuals who use intimidation and name calling) trying to use pressure tactics to bend someone to their own personal agenda and who thinks of what is best for our country and State when they are in congress. I want someone who can sit at the negotiating table and get somewhere besides constant gridlock! I want someone who walks in integrity and earnestly tries to make the right decision. I want someone who doesn’t get down into the mud and start acting less like statesmen and more like adolescents when the heat turns up. And I want someone who has the courage to look throughly at an issue, and when the time comes to vote, makes a stand, popular or unpopular as it may be, but is the stance they can live with when they lay their head down at night. I think Shantel very much has the ability to do this. This attack very much sounds like the ridiculous sound byte attacks that I hear come out of Washington that are used by mainstream media to attack everyone regardless of its truth and I for one am really tired of it. I am tired of hearing it about our president, who is doing a good job, especially in his first year. And I am not giving any attention to it in my home state.

  9. Sen. Tapio understands the negative impact refugee resettlement has had on South Dakota, and will fight to limit immigration to those that love and respect the values, community, and faith of the state of South Dakota and the USA.
