  1. Oh, bullshit.
Thune has spent most of the past 5 years enabling Trump and Project 2025, bashing the Democrats for anything and everything, and then acting surprised that life has gotten worse for the average South Dakotans.

    1. More money in billionaires pockets. Republicans are right, Biden WAS a nightmare, a nightmare for billionaires because he was going to keep them paying their fair share of the tax burden of this country. Thank god the GOP could save them from that, by using FOX to convince the poor that Trump would make them rich too. Silly peasants.

  2. My wife and I are jointly losing $12k in social security in 2026. Thanks to Trump, Thune, and the big beautiful bill. I am so glad our congressional delegation is watching out for the people. I can’t imagine what life would look like without our big beautiful congressional delegation from South Dakota looking out for the good of the people. $12 K may not seem like a large sum of money to our congressional delegation, but it is to me.

  3. Good thing I have been buying silver bullion for 20 years. It’s going to turn into a giant crap show in the US.

  4. I guess the only riots I remember are the ones that went down when Trump was prez–and the mall was target 1….I do feel safer now because we don’t have all the crazy MAGAts trucks parading around with their flags……

And yes some Americans do have more $$$$ in their pockets…specifically members and family of Trump with the massive grifts going on…but food pantries are being stretched to the limit. People can’t afford insurance–and can’t afford cars or homes…

If you think things are bad now—just wait 10 more years as boomers are trying to retire–and we have no income coming in from SS revenue.

      1. Wait, wait, are you one of those people that Trump told would get rich, and you still believe it? LOL

Yes, continue to blame all your problems on the minority opposition party, that is totally not what every other failed dictator throughout history has done, this time it is different, you are special!

            1. Prove to me you’ve never had a hippopotamus in your home. PROVE IT. Asking people to prove a negative is pants-on-head stupid. I cant stand Trump and will absolutely agree that he is aggressively expanding executive power in a bad way, but you cant prove a negative and you should feel bad for debating this way.

          1. dic·ta·tor
            /ˈdikˌtādər/
            noun
a person who behaves in an autocratic way.

            1) Us vs. Them / Dehumanizing Language – The political opponents (the evil dems who hate our nation) are dehumanized. Who else used this language “vermin” and characterized them as a threat to our country, you guessed it, every other dictator!
            2) Portraying the Nation as Declining and in Crisis – We are constantly told we are under siege, attacked by immigrants and Biden’s open border, it was a key message of his campaign, and only He can fix it. Almost the exact words of Benito Mussolini.
            3) Strongman Persona & Authoritarian Tendencies – Just like Il Duce, portraying one man as the fixer of all problems and “making America great again” while any dissent is framed as betrayal (Elon) is a stereotypical “leader-as-savior” persona, which is chapter one of the book on how to be a dictator.
            4) Scapegoating & Populist Mobilization – All of our problems are because the democrats and immigrants, right? Maybe a news station too. Scapegoating is a tactic of a dictatorship; it mobilizes the public against these groups.

            Glad I can help.

            1. This list of “facts” can also be applied to the last two democrats that have occupied the White House.

You did forget about manipulation of the national news media to cover/omit/alter facts about the administration and attack political opponents. Oh, wait, that would be Biden.

And there is spying on your successor and your future political opponents. Oh shoot, that would be Biden, too.

Nice try though, a participation trophy is in your future.

  5. I’m not sure I would say adding $2 trillion more to the national debt with no attempt to address the $2 trillion yearly budget deficit a good year for America.

  6. The $12 K is because of a one time capital gain, on which taxes were paid. The IRS notifies SS of the gain and they in return deduct for medicare through social security. I have always had a supplement and prescription plan which I paid for personally, no skin off the governments back. I have found a less expensive supplement and prescription plan which will save me some money but not the total loss. In addition I have changed home insurance and I am saving some extra money there but it still does not cover the entire loss of the $12 k from social security. I am appealing the decision on the SS reduction, but am not overly hopeful. Thank God it is only 1 year.

My suggestion to any retiree is to sell high end assets before retirement, put the money in the bank and just pay the income tax on the interest earned before retirement begins.

    1. Oh so you blaming President Trump for a law that’s been on the books for several years? Same thing happened to us. We had a large capital gain and had our SS payment decreased for a year. The difference was this was under the Biden administration, so by your logic Biden cost us $14,000,
