Former SF City Councilor on Stehly; always focusing on negative

Former Sioux Falls City Councilor Rex Rolfing added to the blistering criticism of Sioux Falls City Councilor Theresa Stehly in the Argus Leader letter section of the paper today, noting that she’s always focusing on negative, and not willing to learn about the job.

Rolfing explains in part, why he feels Stehly lacks intellectual curiosity:

The last time we hired an internal auditor, I asked, begged and pleaded with Councilor Stehly to be on the selection committee so she could learn the system and hopefully gain appreciation for it or suggest changes to make it even better. But she turned me down (three times), even after I said we would work around her busy schedule. It sounds like taking shots from the outside are better for her than really learning what the system is and how it works. But that is par for Ms. Stehly!

Read it here.

The fact that many in Sioux Falls are growing weary of Stehly and calling her out on her grandstanding and ‘Negative Nancy’ attitudes might be setting the stage for a grassroots campaign for more dynamic leadership on the city council.

I’m hearing things about a top-notch challenger who may be weighing a bid, so it remains to be seen if Stehly’s veil of gloom might be lifted from the Sioux Falls city council in 2020.

  1. There was actually another editorial from a former audit committee member on the same day (further down the page on the Argus) that is worth reading.

  2. Well I’m not a Rolfing fan but he is correct here. It’s no secret that he and TS never saw eye-to-eye, but it’s a really short list of those with any influence who do. At this point TS is a dumpster fire. Frankly the election can’t come soon enough.
