Mike Huether says ‘Not It’ to questions over failure of Village on the River project.

According to the Argus Leader tonight, former Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether made a statement saying in effect that when he left office he tagged Mayor Paul TenHaken and said “not it,” with regards to the failure of his Village on the River project:

Huether, who spent the majority of his term as the city of Sioux Falls’ top elected official trying to get a multi-use parking ramp built, didn’t return phone calls seeking comment on the termination of the deal between City Hall and Village River group.

And…

“I have had no influence nor control on what has evolved nor the ins and outs on this topic since I handed over the gavel to the mayor,” he said.

Construction began on the city’s portion of the Village on the River project, a $21-million parking ramp, in the final days of Huether’s term in office.

Read it here.

If he is avoiding any blame by saying he’s out of office, does that mean he can’t take any credit when he runs for his next office?

It certainly seems like he’s doing the sidestep!

  1. This guy can never ever be in a position of authority again. He’s complete incompetence on so many levels. He treated city employees, fire and police with little regard. He was toxic in the business community. Vindictive, petty and narcissistic in my opinion.
Paul is doing a great job and try to clean up the mess and maxes out credit debt left to him buy Mike Huether.

  2. Boycott KELO. (At least his “on the road show”) They are a MH statewide supporter.
