A blast from the SDGOP past – GOP State Convention, 1892

I just received this little item – an admission ticket – from the Republican State Convention held March 23, 1892 in Chamberlain, SD, making it a souvenir from the 4th South Dakota State Republican convention.

If you think various factions within the GOP get crabby with each other now, they did the same thing 127 years ago:

  1. Ah, the ol’ Moody-Pettigrew faction. Weren’t Schoenbeck, Apa and Napoli instrumental in breaking that up? šŸ˜‰šŸ¤£

  2. I’m pretty sure Schoenbeck was already working on Robert Gamble’s Senatorial race (look it up!) or Gladys Pyle’s representation. He’s always very forward looking.

  3. I think the idea that a resolution is an ā€œinstructionā€ to the POTUS is interesting.
