Dems looking for a new Exec Director.

From Linked in, just a month on from the election of a new chair, it looks like Berk Ermergerd… er.. Ehrmantraut is heading out the door as Democrats look for a new direction as they do most years.

Maybe not completely shocking, after democrats were largely shut out again, but this one had slipped under the radar until now.

  1. the new hire needs access to lots of hot coffee, so the party can wake up and smell it.

  2. Senator/Chairman/Comrade Wiik seems so hellbent on single-party control, perhaps he should apply.

    1. Well, maybe if the democrats and yes also the libertarians weren’t so wacked out, there would be more interest by the people of SD in those parties.

      1. I can’t speak for the Democrats, but I can tell you my own anecdotal experience running for state legislature as a Libertarian. You can’t even imagine how disheartening it was to go door to door only to hear, over and over and over, “Well, I really like what you have to say, but I can’t vote for you because I don’t want to help the _________ (insert Republican or Democrat, depending on the voter’s own leanings) win.”

And that’s exactly what cowardly party bosses like Senator Wiik want. That’s why he brought the ranked-choice voting ban. He’s afraid of voters having any choice but Team Red or Team Blue. He’s afraid of not being able to flaunt the “too important of an election to throw away your vote on a third party” Boogeyman. It’s all just another way to stay in power.

I used to live where there is rank choice voting…it’s a disaster. Thanks for making my point.

          1. “Thanks for making my point.”

If your point is that they enjoy the bounties of single-party control and will cheat to ensure it stays that way, you’re welcome.

            1. Did your former farmer Libertarian Party chair run several times and then ran as a Republican and won a seat in the legislature being a member of the wackadoodle sub caucus?

              1. 🎵 We don’t talk about Bru… uh… Aa-ron, no, no, no. 🎵

Aaron’s a great guy. Votes right most of the time. It’s a shame his good idea for a caucus got coopted by the “Liberty for me, but not for thee” crowd.

          2. the american revolution was a disaster for britain but they got over it. disaster really depends on your viewpoint.

  3. They should ban two party elections! If three is too much, two is barely any better.

  4. It used to be when you voted for a Republican, you knew what you were getting. Not so much anymore. While I don’t mind “Right of Center” , I do not want “somewhere out on the fringe, on a campaign against people who have different ideas about how to live their lives, and prejudicial against minorities and folks who walk to a different drummer.” I think the Party policies should reflect the old saying “It takes all kinds to make a world.”
